Job Overview: The Advisor II, Global Marketing Strategist is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that enhance the reputation of CRS as a trusted partner for institutional donors, foundations, and multilateral organizations. This role involves producing high-quality content and serving as a strategic thought partner to address both urgent and long-term communication needs across the agency. The strategist will work closely with various units to ensure that marketing strategies align with the agency's messaging, storytelling, and strategic positioning. The position requires a proactive approach to creating compelling materials that effectively communicate the impact and value of CRS's programs to priority stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary duties of the Advisor II, Global Marketing Strategist include serving as a strategic thought partner for priority donor relationships, leading the development and implementation of marketing strategies, and producing high-quality content such as capacity statements, briefs, pitch materials, concept notes, factsheets, talking points, project overviews, and success stories. The strategist will collaborate with Institutional Engagement and Global Programs to translate technical program achievements into donor-focused materials, ensuring consistency in messaging and brand identity across all institutional donor materials. Additionally, the role involves partnering with Policy and Government Relations to align marketing materials with advocacy priorities, coordinating with the Content & Creative Studio for aligned messaging, and establishing systems to improve communications capacity across regional and country offices. The strategist will also provide support to the Manager II, Global Marketing in producing and strategizing marketing materials that reflect agency priorities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a solid understanding of various audiences, including institutional donors, donor organizations, peer organizations, and CRS global and field partnerships. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in graphic design platforms such as Adobe, InDesign, and Canva. The ideal candidate should be a team player who is self-motivated, proactive, resourceful, and productive. A demonstrated ability to produce a high volume of quality content under tight deadlines is crucial, as well as strong research, analytical, and storytelling skills. The candidate must be flexible to changing contexts and respectful of guidance from those closest to the issues, with strong training and representation skills.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communications is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for developing effective marketing strategies and producing high-quality content that resonates with diverse audiences.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 8 years of work experience in communications and/or marketing, with a preference for candidates who have experience working with international non-governmental organizations. This level of experience ensures that the candidate is well-versed in the complexities of global marketing and communications within the humanitarian sector.
Languages: Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this role. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they align with the regions in which CRS operates.
