Job Overview:
The Advisor II, Global Marketing Strategist is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies that enhance the positioning of CRS as a trusted partner for institutional donors, foundations, and multilateral organizations. This role involves producing high-quality content and serving as a strategic thought partner to support both urgent and long-term communication needs across the agency. The strategist will work closely with various units to ensure that marketing strategies align with messaging, storytelling, and strategic positioning, thereby reinforcing CRS's brand identity and mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties of the Advisor II, Global Marketing Strategist include serving as a strategic thought partner for priority donor relationships, leading the development and implementation of marketing strategies, and producing high-quality content such as capacity and positioning statements, briefs, pitch materials, concept notes, factsheets, talking points, project overviews, and success stories. The strategist will collaborate with Institutional Engagement and Global Programs to translate technical program achievements into compelling materials that demonstrate impact and value. Additionally, the role involves producing marketing materials that support long-term campaigns and urgent needs, ensuring consistency of messaging and brand identity across all institutional donor materials, and partnering with Policy and Government Relations to align marketing materials with advocacy priorities. The strategist will also coordinate with the Content & Creative Studio and other teams to ensure aligned messaging and storytelling across channels, establish systems to improve communications capacity across regional and country offices, and provide support to the Manager II, Global Marketing in the production and strategizing of marketing materials reflecting agency priorities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a solid understanding of various audiences, including institutional donors, donor organizations, peer organizations, and CRS global and field partnerships. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in graphic design platforms such as Adobe, InDesign, and Canva. The ideal candidate should be a team player who is self-motivated, proactive, resourceful, and productive, with a demonstrated ability to produce a high volume of quality content under tight deadlines. Strong research, analytical, and storytelling skills are required, as well as the ability to effectively manage deadlines and adapt to changing contexts. Respect for guidance from those closest to the issues and strong training and representation/coaching skills are also important.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communications is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for developing effective marketing strategies and producing high-quality content that aligns with the organization's mission and goals.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 8 years of work experience in communications and/or marketing, with a preference for experience working with international non-governmental organizations. This level of experience is crucial for understanding the complexities of marketing within the context of global humanitarian efforts and institutional donor relationships.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the regions in which CRS operates.

Additional Notes:
The position does not involve supervisory responsibilities and requires the candidate to be willing to travel up to 30%.
