Job Description
Chemonics seeks technical experts for the USAID Indonesia Urban Resilient Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (IUWASH Tangguh) activity. This Activity seeks to advance Indonesia’s development goals in increasing access to safely managed drinking water, sanitation and hygiene in Indonesia’s vulnerable urban areas and strengthening climate-resilient WASH services and water resources management. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. The activity has four objectives:
  1. Strengthened WASH and WRM sector governance and financing
  2. Increased access to poor-inclusive, climate-resilient safely managed drinking water and sanitation services
  3. Improved WRM to support climate-resilient drinking water services
  4. Increased adoption of behaviors and improved women’s participation and leadership that contribute to improvements to WASH and WRM outcomes
Chemonics seeks candidates for the following positions for this Activity with the necessary qualifications:
  • WASH governance/financing lead
  • WASH service delivery lead
  • WRM lead
  • Gender and inclusion lead
  • Strategic Communications specialist
  • Private sector engagement specialist
  • Senior finance manager
  • MEL Specialist
  • Mid-level technical specialists
  • Provincial coordinators/Office Directors & Tech Specialists.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in engineering, water and natural resource management, public policy, public administration, economics, or related field required. Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in WASH system planning and management; water resources management; WASH governance; WASH financing; Finance, MEL, Private Sector Engagement Specialist AND/OR gender and social inclusion
  • Strong understanding of Indonesia’s WASH market system, investment structures, and performance- and incentive-based WASH frameworks
  • Experience working with vulnerable urban populations preferred​
  • Experience with USAID or other donor-funded programs preferred
  • Supervisory experience and demonstrated ability to form strong working relationships, mentor, and motivate staff
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, orally and in writing
  • Fluency in Bahasa
