Job Overview:
The Private Sector Engagement Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the development and engagement of companies within the Gender Action Lab (GAL) and contributes to partnership development in the Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) programme of UN Women Indonesia. This position requires close collaboration with the Programme Analyst for Women’s Empowerment Principles to ensure effective partnership coordination and implementation of WEE initiatives. The analyst will provide substantive reports on partnerships with the private sector, ensuring alignment with UN Women’s priorities, particularly in the area of Women’s Economic Empowerment. The role also involves providing technical support in identifying and maintaining a strategic pipeline of private sector partners, facilitating coordination with various teams, and ensuring compliance with UN Women policies and standards. The analyst will contribute to the preparation and management of partnership agreements, support the integration of private sector partnerships into programme implementation, and maintain structured documentation and tracking systems to assess partnership performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide substantive reports to coordinate partnerships with the private sector and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment with UN Women priorities, particularly in Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE).
  • Offer technical support in identifying, mapping, and maintaining a strategic pipeline of private sector partners, ensuring sustained engagement and alignment with programme objectives.
  • Facilitate coordination with Programme and Operations teams, ensuring compliance with UN Women policies and standards.
  • Contribute to the preparation, review, and management of partnership agreements, MoUs, and Letters of Agreement, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Support the integration of private sector partnerships into programme implementation, ensuring meaningful engagement.
  • Facilitate coordination with partners across consultations, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives.
  • Ensure effective follow-up on partner contributions and maintain strong coordination mechanisms to support programme delivery.
  • Establish and maintain structured documentation, monitoring, and tracking systems to assess partnership performance.
  • Provide technical capacity development support to UN Women’s private sector partners on Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and gender-responsive business practices. 1
  • Contribute to reporting, knowledge management, and learning from UN Women’s programme, including inputs to donor reports and knowledge products. 1
  • Support the development of partnerships for resource mobilization and strategic positioning of UN Women, particularly in advancing WEE priorities. 1
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organisation.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in development studies, business administration, public policy, economics, gender studies, social sciences, or a related field is required.
  • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • At least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in partnerships development, business sector engagement, programme coordination, or women’s economic empowerment is required.
  • Experience in engaging with business sector stakeholders is required.
  • Experience in supporting the implementation of development programmes or partnership initiatives is required.
  • Experience in coordinating stakeholder engagement activities, workshops, or consultations is required.
  • Experience in managing partnership processes or engagement pipelines is desirable.
  • Experience working with Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) or business engagement programmes is desirable.
  • Experience working with UN agencies, international organizations, or development partners is desirable. 1
  • Proficiency in using computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and experience in handling web-based management systems is required.

Educational Background:
The position requires a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as development studies, business administration, public policy, economics, gender studies, social sciences, or a related area. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.

Experience:
The candidate must have at least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in areas such as partnerships development, business sector engagement, programme coordination, or women’s economic empowerment. Experience in engaging with business sector stakeholders and supporting the implementation of development programmes or partnership initiatives is essential. Additionally, experience in coordinating stakeholder engagement activities, workshops, or consultations is required, while managing partnership processes or engagement pipelines is considered desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is required for this position, ensuring effective communication with diverse stakeholders and partners.
