Job Overview:
The Enterprise Adviser position is designed to provide professional-level advisory services to enterprises, focusing on conducting independent assessments against labor standards and offering consultancy services to support remediation and improvement. The role requires a strong understanding of labor standards, occupational health and safety, and the ability to produce high-quality reports that detail assessment findings, recommendations, and progress reports. The Enterprise Adviser will work closely with national constituents and will be responsible for adapting Better Work products to meet the specific needs of individual enterprises. This position is crucial for enhancing enterprise performance and facilitating access to markets, thereby contributing to the overall improvement of working conditions in the garment industry in Bangladesh.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Enterprise Adviser will independently conduct assessments of labor standards and management systems at the enterprise level, producing high-standard reports in English that include assessment findings, recommendations for improvement, and progress reports on implementation. The adviser will also review reports from other advisors as part of the peer review process to ensure quality assurance. Additionally, the role involves providing high-quality advisory services aimed at improving enterprise performance, which includes coaching, facilitating management and union improvement committees, and conducting training sessions. The adviser will select and adapt Better Work products for individual enterprises, contribute to the project's monitoring and evaluation strategy, and assist in building the financial sustainability of the project by encouraging enterprise participation in project activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in fields such as international development, law, occupational health and safety, industrial engineering, industrial relations, gender studies, human resource management, or adult education, or have equivalent experience. They should demonstrate a strong understanding of labor standards, corporate social responsibility, and occupational health and safety, particularly in the context of developing countries. Additionally, candidates should have proven skills in group facilitation, interpersonal communication, and behavior change, as well as the ability to deliver classroom-based training effectively.

Educational Background:
A university degree in relevant fields such as international development, law, occupational health and safety, industrial engineering, industrial relations, gender studies, human resource management, or adult education is required. Equivalent experience may also be considered acceptable for this position.

Experience:
At least two years of professional experience in areas such as social dialogue, capacity building in the private sector, corporate social responsibility, occupational health and safety, or industrial relations is required. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in enterprise-level assessments of labor standards and management systems, as well as the ability to provide advisory services and technical guidance to improve factory performance.

Languages:
Candidates must have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Bengali. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory for this position.

Additional Notes:
This position is a National Officer role, open only to Bangladeshi candidates. The contract is a Special Short-Term (SST) contract with a duration of three months. The entry-level salary for this position is at UN Salary Scale - Grade NOA, Step-01 (BDT).
