Job Overview: The Renewable Energy Investment Analyst will play a crucial role in the Energy and Sustainable Business (ESB) program, which aims to accelerate Indonesia's transition to a low-carbon economy. This hybrid position requires the analyst to work in the Jakarta office for 8 days a month while also engaging in remote work. The analyst will support the Investment Support Manager and Investment Support Lead in delivering the MENTARI Investment Support Strand, which focuses on enhancing project readiness and bankability for renewable energy projects. The role involves maintaining and analyzing project data, conducting financial and commercial analyses, and preparing project materials for investor engagement. The analyst will collaborate with various stakeholders, including government institutions, financiers, and project sponsors, to facilitate the transition towards renewable energy in Indonesia.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Renewable Energy Investment Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including:
Maintaining and analyzing the MENTARI project pipeline, ensuring accurate project profiles and sponsor information.
Conducting project revalidation and screening, applying eligibility criteria and readiness assessment tools.
Reviewing project documentation to identify gaps in technical, commercial, financial, and regulatory aspects.
Preparing project-readiness diagnostics and action plans that outline decision-critical gaps and technical assistance needs.
Conducting market research to identify potential project opportunities through stakeholder engagement.
Reviewing and updating project financial analyses, including CAPEX, OPEX, and cash flow assessments.
Supporting the preparation of investor-facing materials and assessing appropriate financing options.
Preparing technical scopes of work and coordinating inputs from various consultants.
Maintaining records of stakeholder engagement and contributing to reporting and knowledge sharing. 1
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, engineering, energy systems, infrastructure planning, public policy, sustainable development, or a related field. A minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, project finance, or related areas is required. Candidates should demonstrate strong analytical skills, particularly in project screening, analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">financial analysis, and investment readiness. A working understanding of the renewable energy project-development cycle and project-finance concepts is essential. Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, along with strong writing and research skills, is also necessary.
Educational Background: The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as finance, economics, business administration, engineering, energy systems, infrastructure planning, public policy, or sustainable development. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of renewable energy projects and their financial implications.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least four years of professional experience in areas related to renewable energy, sustainable infrastructure, project finance, or investment readiness. This experience should include analytical work related to project screening, financial analysis, and feasibility assessments, demonstrating a solid understanding of the renewable energy project-development cycle.
Languages: Proficiency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English is mandatory, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages. This bilingual capability is essential for engaging with stakeholders and preparing project materials. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
Additional Notes: This is a full-time position with a fixed-term employment agreement for six months, with the possibility of extension up to March 31, 2028, based on performance and project needs. Candidates must have existing work authorization in Indonesia, as WRI is unable to sponsor visas for this position. The role involves a hybrid working model, allowing for flexible working hours, and may require travel within Indonesia to project locations.
