Job Overview:
The Accounting and Finance Officer will coordinate financial and accounting operations within the FHI 360 Indonesia office. This role is crucial for ensuring the fiscal health of the organization by providing financial management and guidance, conducting analyses of financial data, and preparing budget analyses for project funds. The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing and preparing reports required by funding agencies to ensure compliance with donor requirements. This position requires a proactive approach to financial oversight, ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely, and that the organization adheres to applicable regulations and accounting standards. The officer will also support the Finance Unit in various capacities, including tax compliance and financial reporting, while developing effective working relationships with project teams and management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Accounting and Finance Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks including analyzing budget forecasts, regulatory filings, and compiling complex financial data. The officer will interpret and evaluate financial data to ensure compliance with Indonesian statutes and Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP). Key responsibilities include preparing monthly financial close reports, conducting bank reconciliations, and ensuring timely recording of financial transactions. The officer will also be responsible for tax calculations and compliance for the EPIC project, documenting complex issues, and articulating written conclusions. Additionally, the officer will develop or adapt financial processes based on changes in corporate policies and regulations, recommend internal accounting policies, and supervise the Finance Officer to ensure proper tracking of financial documents. The role also involves supporting the Senior Finance Manager to ensure compliance with FHI 360 financial policies and handling the VAT exemption process.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, along with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a business setting. Proficiency in spreadsheet software is required, and prior experience working on USAID programs and in an international NGO environment is highly desirable. The candidate should have excellent organizational skills, be a self-starter with attention to detail, and be able to work effectively within a team. Experience as an external auditor for at least 2 years is an advantage, and candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesian.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding complex financial systems and regulations, which is critical for the role of Accounting and Finance Officer.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a business setting, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in financial management roles within international NGOs or on USAID programs. Experience as an external auditor for at least 2 years is considered an advantage, as it provides valuable insights into compliance and regulatory requirements.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesian is also required, as the role involves interaction with local stakeholders and compliance with local regulations. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This position is full-time and based in Jakarta, Indonesia. The expected hiring salary range for this role is IDR 136,000,000 - 200,000,000 for annual basic salary.
