Job Overview:
The Geospatial Data Analyst position is a hybrid role based in Jakarta, requiring 8 days per month in the office. The primary focus of this role is to provide technical and analytical support to enhance the spatial data management and functionality of the E-STDB platform, which is a smallholder registration platform developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture. The analyst will assess the quality, completeness, and consistency of smallholder spatial data, develop automation tools for data processing, and engage with stakeholders to improve the platform's usability. The role also involves providing technical assistance and training to government users, developing documentation, and ensuring the platform meets the needs of its users while aligning with WRI's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Geospatial Data Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
  • Conducting in-depth analysis of the STDB spatial database to assess data quality and produce diagnostic reports.
  • Designing and building spatial data automation tools to improve operational efficiency within the E-STDB platform.
  • Providing technical assistance to relevant ministries and local governments for effective implementation of spatial data.
  • Developing technical notes and user guidelines for the platform.
  • Engaging with key stakeholders to gather feedback and identify opportunities for platform improvement.
  • Contributing to the integration of existing platforms with E-STDB as necessary.
  • Actively participating in identifying future developments for the platform to enhance user experience and reliability.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Science, Geography, Geomatics, Geodesy, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. They should have a minimum of three years of professional experience in geospatial data analysis and spatial database management, particularly with large or complex datasets. Proficiency in spatial database design and management using PostgreSQL/PostGIS, as well as experience with GIS tools such as QGIS and ArcGIS, is essential. Candidates should also demonstrate experience in geospatial programming, particularly with Python and relevant libraries. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences are also required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Geospatial Science, Geography, Geomatics, Geodesy, Computer Science, or Information Technology is required. Relevant coursework or demonstrated experience in GIS, spatial databases, and spatial programming is essential for this position.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in geospatial data analysis and spatial database management. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with large or complex spatial datasets and demonstrate expertise in spatial database design and management.

Languages:
Proficiency in both Bahasa Indonesia and English is mandatory. Candidates should possess good written and verbal communication skills in both languages to effectively engage with government users and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is a consultant position with a contract duration from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027, with the possibility of extension based on performance, project needs, and budget availability. The consultant will be compensated on a daily rate basis, with a maximum of 108 working days for the entire contract, equating to 18 working days per month. The position is locally engaged, and Indonesian nationals are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have existing work authorization in Indonesia as WRI is unable to sponsor visas for this role. Travel insurance will be provided for any travel duties assigned by WRI Indonesia.
