Job Overview:
The Quality Assurance Associate for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) will play a crucial role in monitoring and evaluating the performance of educational institutes in accordance with the Agency's policies and procedures. The incumbent will be responsible for assessing the quality of teaching and learning, the management of resources, and the promotion of inclusive teaching practices. This position requires the collection, recording, and analysis of various data types related to institute performance, leading to the preparation of comprehensive quality assurance reports. The associate will work closely with the supervisor to develop a comprehensive Institute Quality Review Framework and will support the dissemination of best practices across the field. The role also involves contributing to professional development activities and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. The incumbent is expected to stay updated on knowledge and practices in the field of quality assurance and education systems, ensuring that the highest standards of professionalism are upheld.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Associate include:

• Monitoring and evaluating the performance of educational institutes based on the Institute Quality Review Framework and Standards, focusing on teaching quality, learning environments, resource management, and inclusive practices.
• Collecting, recording, and analyzing data on various aspects of institute performance, and preparing regular quality assurance reports that reflect objective judgments and uphold professionalism.
• Collaborating with the unit team to develop action plans for institute development, addressing areas of weakness identified during reviews.
• Assisting in the creation of a comprehensive Institute Quality Review Framework for the field, ensuring coherence in the institute's systems and performance.
• Supporting the dissemination of good practices and communicating with relevant stakeholders regarding the unit's work.
• Preparing quality assurance reviews with supporting evidence and producing regular reports and updates as required.
• Engaging in professional development activities and collaborating with peers to enhance practice.
• Performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree from an accredited institution in economics, quality assurance, or a related field. An advanced degree in a relevant subject, particularly in institute quality assurance monitoring and evaluation, is desirable. Additionally, candidates should have in-depth knowledge and understanding of research in quality assurance procedures and practices. The position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication abilities, and proficiency in standard Agency computer applications. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree from an accredited educational institution in economics, quality assurance, or a related field. An advanced degree in a related subject, particularly in institute quality assurance monitoring and evaluation, is considered desirable. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of quality assurance in educational settings and for effectively contributing to the development and implementation of quality assurance frameworks.

Experience:
Candidates must have at least two years of professional experience relevant to education systems and institute quality assurance or monitoring and evaluation capacity. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to engage with educational institutions, assess their performance, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. Experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting in an educational context is also essential for this role.

Languages:
For this position, proficiency in English and Arabic is required, as these are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum level of proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking in both languages, according to the UN Language Framework. Knowledge of French is considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
This position is a daily paid assignment for up to three months, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability, satisfactory performance, and ongoing need. The daily rate for this position is Grade 12, set at 31.3
