Job Overview:
The Visiting Professional position within the Information Management Services Section, specifically in the Library, Archives and Legacy team, is designed for individuals seeking to gain practical experience in the field of international law librarianship. The role involves assisting the Library team in providing reference and circulation services to members of the Court. The successful candidate will engage in various library projects, conduct in-depth research, and support the development of library resources. This position is an excellent opportunity for those interested in contributing to the ICC's mission of promoting justice and accountability on a global scale. Candidates are expected to work full-time for a period of three to six months, contributing to the Court's efforts in legal scholarship and research support.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Visiting Professional include assisting the Library team with reference and circulation services, conducting in-depth research and analysis, creating library guides, developing and updating the intranet/internet, delivering training sessions, and helping library patrons with bibliographic research. The role also involves answering inquiries via email, telephone, and in-person, processing inter-library loan requests, locating online journal articles, and responding to reference queries. Additionally, the candidate will support cataloguing and classification workflows, carry out circulation tasks such as borrowing and renewing items, and record library statistics to ensure efficient library operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a degree in information science, library science, information management, or a related field from a recognized university. A strong academic record is essential, and candidates should demonstrate a service-oriented attitude, a genuine interest in international law, and the ability to adapt to multicultural environments. Strong teamwork skills and proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, are also required.

Educational Background:
A degree in information science, library science, information management, or a related field is mandatory. Candidates are expected to have a very good academic performance record, which will be assessed during the application process.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least three years of relevant professional experience in fields related to information management or library services. Practical experience that aligns with the work of the ICC will be considered an asset. Languages:
Proficiency in one of the working languages of the Court, either French or English, is required. A working knowledge of the other language is desirable.
