Job Overview: The FAO Dashboard System Development and Data Backup Specialist will play a crucial role in the Monitoring and Enhancement of Remote Sensing for National Forest Inventory (MERANTI) project, which is a three-year initiative funded by Norway and managed by the FAO Office in Jakarta. This project aims to enhance Indonesia's National Forest Inventory (NFI) by integrating advanced land-monitoring approaches to improve the accuracy, availability, transparency, and timeliness of forest and tree resource data. The specialist will provide technical and operational support for the development, enhancement, testing, maintenance, and implementation of web-based information systems and dashboards that support NFI 2.0 and related forest monitoring information. The role requires close collaboration with various stakeholders, including the Directorate General of Forestry Planning and other technical staff, to ensure the successful delivery of operational products within the assignment period.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the FAO Dashboard System Development and Data Backup Specialist include assisting in the development and enhancement of priority dashboard modules that display NFI 2.0 and IHM data, analytical outputs, and forest monitoring information. The specialist will work on improving dashboard layout, navigation, usability, and responsiveness based on user requirements. They will ensure that web applications are usable across standard desktop and mobile/tablet environments and implement interactive maps, charts, tables, filters, search functions, and reports to enhance the presentation of analytical results.
