Job Overview: The Young Professionals Program (YPP) at the World Bank Group is designed for exceptional professionals who are eager to contribute to global development challenges. As a Young Professional, you will engage in a two-year program that includes three eight-month rotations across different functions and institutions within the WBG, including the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), and International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). Duties and Responsibilities: As a Young Professional in the Corporate security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security Directorate, you will serve as a technical advisor on physical security and fire life safety. Your responsibilities will include:
Advising on physical security and fire life safety requirements for various projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices.
Developing technical requirements for real estate projects from planning through commissioning.
Reviewing designs, submittals, and shop drawings to ensure adherence to WBG and international standards.
Conducting site assessments and monitoring the implementation of security and fire life safety measures.
Collaborating with Corporate Real Estate, Country Security Specialists, and project teams to ensure effective security measures are in place.
Supporting WBG guidelines, training, and technical queries while managing budgets prudently.
Providing guidance throughout the project lifecycle, from planning to commissioning, and ensuring quality implementation of security measures.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a minimum of a master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field. Additionally, applicants should have 2 to 6 years of relevant professional experience in designing, project management, and maintenance of physical security systems and fire life safety systems. A demonstrated interest in development work and alignment with the World Bank Group’s mission is essential. Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills are required to perform complex design reviews effectively. Proven experience in physical security resource management, including procurement and budgeting, is also necessary. Candidates should be familiar with security risk assessment and risk mitigation programs for operations in varied risk environments.
Educational Background: The position requires a minimum of a master’s degree in a relevant engineering field such as Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineering, or Engineering Technology.
