Job Overview:
The Young Professionals Program (YPP) at the World Bank Group is designed for exceptional individuals who are eager to contribute to global development while enhancing their professional skills. As a Young Professional, you will engage in a structured two-year program that includes three rotations across various functions within the organization. This program is tailored to develop future leaders in the field of international development. Young Professionals will work on critical projects that address issues such as poverty alleviation, economic growth, and sustainable development. The role requires collaboration with colleagues from different disciplines and institutions, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted challenges faced by developing countries. The program emphasizes both technical and operational training, providing participants with the tools necessary to succeed in their careers and make a meaningful impact.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Young Professional, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the World Bank Group's mission. Your duties will include:

• Designing, preparing, implementing, supervising, and monitoring results of lending operations and technical assistance projects.
• Conducting analytical and diagnostic work, including financial assessments and policy analysis.
• Engaging in policy dialogue with government officials, financial institutions, and private-sector stakeholders.
• Supporting initiatives related to financial stability, inclusion, and private capital mobilization.
• Drafting project documents, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Contributing to project monitoring frameworks and supporting impact evaluations.
• Coordinating missions and workshops, ensuring effective documentation and follow-up.
• Collaborating with various teams within the World Bank Group, particularly in fragile and conflict-affected areas.
• Participating in knowledge-sharing activities and contributing to team learning events.

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the Young Professionals Program, candidates must possess a strong set of qualifications, including:

• A Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, International Development, Business Administration, or a closely related field, completed by the September start date.
• 2-6 years of relevant professional experience in areas such as financial-sector development, public policy, or development finance.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a quantitative capability in econometrics or financial modeling being highly desirable.
• Demonstrated expertise in relevant areas such as financial stability, SME finance, or investment climate reform.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work effectively in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments, managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have a Master's degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Finance, Public Policy, or International Development. This educational background should include coursework that is pertinent to economics or finance, ensuring that candidates have a solid foundation in the principles necessary for the role.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have between 2 to 6 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should ideally be in fields related to financial-sector development, public policy, or development finance. Candidates with exposure to project preparation, implementation support, or impact evaluation will be viewed favorably, as this experience is crucial for the responsibilities of the role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of a relevant regional language is considered an advantage, as it can enhance communication and engagement with local stakeholders in various countries.
