Job Overview:
The position of Stagiaire chargé(e) de programme Digital & IT Operations is designed to support the IT operations and digital initiatives of WFP in Mauritania. The intern will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency of processes, improving data quality, and enhancing user experience within the organization. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in a dynamic humanitarian environment where technology is a key lever for supporting WFP's operations. The intern will contribute to the smooth functioning of IT services while supporting digitalization, automation, and data management initiatives that are essential for operational effectiveness and informed decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Head of TEC / Business Transformation Officer and the IT Operations Associate, the intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: providing first-level technical support to users and logging assistance requests; participating in the installation, configuration, and deployment of IT equipment such as computers, monitors, printers, and other peripherals; assisting in organizing and providing technical support for virtual meetings, training sessions, and events using platforms like Microsoft Teams and Zoom; performing preventive maintenance and first-level diagnostics on ICT equipment; monitoring the functionality of internet connections, network equipment, and other critical infrastructures; managing and updating the ICT asset inventory; providing remote support to field offices as needed; collecting, cleaning, structuring, and consolidating data from various sources; contributing to the production of reports, dashboards, and tracking tools using Excel, Power BI, SharePoint, or other WFP-approved platforms; participating in the digitalization and automation of business processes through Microsoft 365 tools; conducting quality checks on data and participating in testing and validation of digital solutions; documenting procedures, workflows, user guides, and IT best practices; raising user awareness on digital tools and best practices regarding cybersecurity and data protection; and executing any other tasks related to their responsibilities as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria: currently enrolled in a university program (Bachelor's degree) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a similar field, with at least two years of completed studies; or enrolled in a Master's program in one of the aforementioned fields; or recently graduated in a relevant field within six months prior to the application date. Additionally, candidates must be able to travel and work at the internship location, and must not have a direct family relationship with any WFP employee.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes being currently enrolled in or having recently graduated from a relevant academic program. Specifically, candidates should have a background in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field. The internship is open to those who are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree, or who have graduated within the last six months, ensuring that candidates have a solid foundation in the necessary technical skills and knowledge.

Experience:
The level of experience required for this position is relatively low, as it is an internship role. However, candidates should possess a good understanding of IT environments and ICT equipment, as well as familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 tools. Basic knowledge of computer networks and user support is also beneficial. Experience with data management and analysis, as well as familiarity with tools like Power BI, Power Automate, SQL, or Python, is considered an asset but not mandatory.

Languages:
Fluency in French, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, a good knowledge of English is also required, as it will facilitate communication within the diverse WFP team and with international partners.

This internship is for a duration of six months, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and operational needs. The position is based in Nouakchott and Bassikounou, and it is essential for candidates to be adaptable and willing to work in a multicultural environment.
