Job Overview:
The Movement Operations Associate (Field Support) plays a crucial role in the execution of movement operations activities within transit centers and third-party facilities. This position is under the general supervision of the Programme Manager and direct supervision of the Reintegration Officer. The associate is expected to assist beneficiaries upon their arrival, during their stay, and upon their departure, ensuring that their needs are met in a safe and comfortable manner. This includes managing sign-in processes, verifying identities, providing orientation, and distributing food and non-food items. The associate will also be responsible for maintaining accurate data records, coordinating services for meals and hygiene, and ensuring compliance with operational standards. The role requires effective communication with beneficiaries and service providers, as well as the ability to lead and guide junior staff members in field support activities. The associate must demonstrate professionalism and uphold IOM's standards of conduct while interacting with migrants and colleagues.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Movement Operations Associate include assisting beneficiaries at transit centers or third-party facilities, ensuring their safety and comfort during their stay. This involves managing sign-in processes, verifying identities, and providing necessary orientation and support. The associate will coordinate timely services for meals and snacks, ensuring cultural appropriateness and minimizing waste. They will also assist with pre-departure formalities, including travel loans and luggage management, and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards. The associate is expected to monitor and guide teams of Operations Clerks and Assistants, provide assistance for extended periods, and communicate promptly with supervisors regarding any issues. Additionally, they will lead transportation coordination, ensuring proper identity verification and organization of individuals being transported, and uphold confidentiality and integrity in all operations. Regular feedback to supervisors and adherence to IOM's SOPs and Standards of Conduct are essential components of this role.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma with at least 5 years of relevant work experience, or a Bachelor's degree in social science, International Relations, Regional Studies, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with 3 years of relevant work experience. Experience in movement operations, transportation-related roles, and management is strongly preferred. Candidates should also have experience in programs with a movement operations component, particularly in resettlement programs, and should be adept at guiding and leading junior staff members. Strong communication skills with beneficiaries are essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a high school diploma or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as social science, International Relations, or Regional Studies. The degree must be from an accredited academic institution recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Candidates with a high school diploma must have significant work experience to compensate for the lack of a degree, while those with a Bachelor's degree should have a minimum of three years of relevant work experience.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have prior experience in movement operations, transportation-related roles, or management. Specifically, experience in programs that include a movement operations component, particularly in resettlement programs, is highly desirable. Candidates should also have experience in guiding and leading junior staff members and communicating effectively with beneficiaries. This experience is crucial for ensuring that the associate can perform their duties effectively and support the needs of individuals in transit centers and third-party facilities.

Languages:
Fluency in French is required for this position, as all IOM staff members must be proficient in one of the organization's official languages, which include English, French, and Spanish. A working knowledge of English is considered an advantage.
