Job Overview:
The Driver position within the UNDP is crucial for ensuring reliable and safe transportation services for authorized personnel. The role requires a high level of responsibility, courtesy, and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. The Driver will be supervised by the Administrative Associate – Head of Admin and will be rostered on an as-needed basis, meaning that the position may not be full-time but will require flexibility and readiness to respond to transport needs as they arise. The Driver is expected to maintain a high standard of vehicle management, ensuring that all driving services are conducted in accordance with UNDP regulations and safety protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver is responsible for providing reliable and secure driving services, which includes: driving office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel; delivering and collecting mail, documents, and other items; meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport and assisting with visa and customs formalities when required; supporting office-related transportation needs such as moving equipment and furniture; managing and maintaining the office vehicle, performing minor repairs, and arranging for other repairs as necessary; ensuring the vehicle is kept clean and in good working condition by checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, etc.; logging official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, and oil changes; taking necessary steps in case of involvement in an accident; maintaining an inventory of vehicle equipment and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security/communication equipment; ensuring compliance with security rules and regulations; and notifying scheduled trips in advance to obtain relevant security clearance. The Driver may also be required to perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of secondary education and a valid driver’s license. Additionally, applicants should have at least 2 years of relevant work experience as a professional driver, with a proven safe driving record. The ideal candidate will demonstrate integrity by modeling the UN’s values and ethical standards, display cultural sensitivity, and treat all individuals fairly without favoritism. The ability to work under pressure, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a willingness to adapt to change are also essential qualifications for this role.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a minimum of secondary education. Candidates must also hold a valid driver’s license, which is essential for performing the driving duties associated with this role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of work experience as a professional driver. Candidates should have a safe driving record and experience in driving in various conditions. Previous experience working with the UN, international organizations, or embassies is desirable but not mandatory.

Languages:
Fluency in any of the local languages (Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian) is mandatory, along with a basic knowledge of the English language. This language proficiency is important for effective communication with diverse personnel and stakeholders.
