Job Overview:
The Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) Field Medic Specialist is a critical role based in Aleppo, with potential deployments to other areas in Syria as needed. This position involves providing on-site medical support to clearance teams, ensuring their health and safety through emergency response, preventive care, and medical assistance. The Field Medic Specialist is responsible for CASEVAC support, ensuring safe and efficient evacuation of casualties. Regular inspections of ambulances and medical equipment are part of the role, along with delivering medical care and preventive health measures. The specialist will conduct medical training for DRC staff, ensuring compliance with DRC's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintaining medical readiness. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Humanitarian Mine Action Field Medic Specialist include:

• Providing on-site medical support to clearance teams and HMA staff during operations according to SOPs.
• Accompanying mobile teams to ensure medical coverage wherever they are deployed.
• Delivering emergency medical response, including casualty stabilization and accompanying casualties to medical facilities.
• Conducting assessments and coordinating with local medical facilities to establish effective CASEVAC plans.
• Maintaining up-to-date contact information for medical facilities in the area of operation.
• Monitoring hygiene, sanitation, and disease prevention measures in operational areas.
• Regularly inspecting and managing medical equipment, trauma kits, and medications to ensure compliance with DRC SOPs.
• Coordinating with the Ministry of Health for medication procurement and ensuring timely resupply.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Humanitarian Mine Action Field Medic Specialist position include:

• Certification as a medical professional (Paramedic, Nurse, or equivalent) with relevant field experience in emergency medical response and trauma care.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience providing medical support in humanitarian or emergency response contexts.
• Experience in a hospital emergency room, intensive care unit, ambulance crew, or as a military combat medic is desirable.
• IMAS Intermediate Care Provider (ICP) Training or equivalent training is preferred.
• Prior experience in delivering medical training is advantageous.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• A valid manual driving license (category class A) and the ability to drive a four-wheel drive vehicle is desirable.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes:

• A Medical Doctor qualification that meets the accepted Syrian National Standard.
• A Bachelor’s degree in medicine or a related discipline is essential for this role.

Experience:
The level of experience needed for the Humanitarian Mine Action Field Medic Specialist position includes:

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in providing medical support in humanitarian or emergency response contexts.
