The organization is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment, ensuring that all employment decisions are based on qualifications and competence, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, or any other basis covered by law.

Job Overview:
The Campaign Consultant will play a crucial role in designing and providing technical support for an advocacy campaign aimed at promoting women's meaningful participation in peace talks. This consultancy is vital in creating civic space for women-led organizations (WLOs) to influence peace discourse, counter hate speech, and advocate for inclusive peace processes. The consultant will ensure that the campaign is women-led, participatory, and conflict-sensitive, aligning with the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. The consultant will be responsible for engaging WLOs in a three-day workshop to shape the campaign components, consolidating the campaign design proposal, and ensuring coherent advocacy messaging across all activities. The campaign will be implemented in two phases, focusing on both the design and execution of the advocacy efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's duties will include conducting a rapid desk review and context analysis related to women's participation in peace processes, preparing training materials for the workshop, and inducting UN Women staff on the workshop content. The consultant will facilitate a three-day participatory workshop with WLOs to draft campaign components, including objectives, theory of change, advocacy framework, key messaging, and media strategy. Following the workshop, the consultant will consolidate the campaign design based on the results, ensuring consistency in advocacy messaging and identifying potential media outlets. The consultant will also advise on measuring change, risk analysis, and mitigation strategies, and ensure knowledge sharing among WLOs for effective outreach. A comprehensive Campaign Plan will be prepared to guide implementation, and the consultant will propose adaptable approaches to address challenges during the campaign.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Communications, Advocacy, Gender Studies, Peacebuilding, Political Science, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in advocacy campaign design and coordination is required, preferably in fragile or conflict-affected contexts. Demonstrated experience working with women's organizations and civil society actors is essential, along with proven facilitation, coordination, and consensus-building skills. A strong understanding of the Women, Peace and Security agenda is necessary, as well as excellent analytical, drafting, and communication skills.

Educational Background:
The position requires an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Communications, Advocacy, Gender Studies, Peacebuilding, or Political Science. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of gender issues and advocacy in peace processes.

Experience:
The consultant should have at least 7 years of relevant experience in advocacy campaign design and coordination, particularly in contexts that are fragile or affected by conflict. This level of experience is necessary to navigate the challenges associated with promoting women's participation in peace processes effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication for this consultancy. Knowledge of Arabic or other local languages would be advantageous, as it may facilitate better engagement with local stakeholders and communities involved in the peace processes.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy will be conducted over a two-month period, with the work divided into two phases. The consultant will work under the supervision of the WPS Programme Specialist and in close coordination with the UN Women Programme Associate and Media Officer. The position is expected to be full-time, and the consultant will be required to deliver specific outputs within set deadlines. Compensation details and benefits will be discussed during the hiring process, and the consultant will be expected to adhere to UN Women’s policies and procedures, including a zero-tolerance policy on misconduct.
