Job Overview:
The Fundraising Consultant for Indonesia NPAP Sustain Phase will play a crucial role in supporting WRI Indonesia as the secretariat of the National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP). This position involves developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy aimed at securing funds for the Sustain Phase of the NPAP, which is set to continue through 2027-202

• The consultant will collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including the NPAP Secretariat, GPAP, and various donors, to assess and co-design governance, institutional, operational, and financing scenarios that align with the broader GPAP/NPAP model. The role requires a strong focus on research, proposal development, and stakeholder engagement to ensure the successful continuation and expansion of NPAP initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's primary responsibilities will include conducting research and desk studies related to fundraising activities, developing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, and creating a database of potential donors. They will provide fundraising advisory services and develop funding proposals for various initiatives related to environmental management, including Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), solid waste management, and innovative financing. The consultant will also be responsible for developing the NPAP Sustain Phase strategy, including institutional and governance structures, and presenting these strategies to the NPAP Co-Chairs and Steering Board for endorsement. Additionally, the consultant will coordinate regular meetings with potential donors, support the implementation of fundraising activities, and lead stakeholder engagement efforts to advance the fundraising pipeline.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in environmental management, business, development studies, international relations, or a related field. A minimum of five years of relevant experience in external fundraising and resource mobilization is required, preferably with a large international organization. Candidates should have a proven track record of successful grant acquisition from various funding sources, experience in developing concept notes and project proposals, and a good understanding of donor priorities and funding mechanisms. Familiarity with the Indonesian environmental landscape and strong interpersonal skills are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as environmental management, business, development studies, or international relations is required. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of environmental issues and fundraising strategies.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant experience in external fundraising and resource mobilization. Candidates should have experience working with large international organizations and a background in environmental projects related to climate, oceans, cities, forests, or energy. A proven ability to develop successful funding proposals and strategies is essential.

Languages:
Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia and English is mandatory, with strong communication and presentation skills necessary to effectively convey the organization's mission and impact to diverse audiences. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.

Additional Notes:
This is a hybrid position requiring 8 days per month in the office, based in Jakarta. The contract duration is from 15 September 2026 to 31 March 2027, with a daily-rate consultant arrangement allowing for a maximum of 20 working days per month. Candidates must have existing work authorization in Indonesia, as WRI is unable to sponsor visas for this position. The role is locally engaged, and Indonesian nationals are encouraged to apply. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and skills, and travel insurance will be provided for any travel duties assigned by WRI Indonesia.
