This project aims to enhance Indonesia's capacity to generate high-quality forest information and improve national strategic planning and decision-making regarding forests and trees.
Job Overview: The National Project Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the MERANTI project, which focuses on improving the accuracy and availability of forest and tree resource data in Indonesia. The position involves a combination of programme administration and financial management, ensuring that all project activities are executed in alignment with the approved work plans and budget lines. The assistant will work closely with the National Project Coordinator and the Assistant FAO Representative Administration in Indonesia, providing essential support in budget planning, monitoring expenditures, and preparing financial reports. The role also includes administrative support for project activities, logistics, and procurement, ensuring that all necessary arrangements are made for successful project implementation. The assistant will be expected to maintain a high level of organization and attention to detail, facilitating effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: The National Project Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Financial Management: Supporting budget planning, monitoring project expenditures, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with project SOPs and government policies.
Administration Management: Providing administrative support for project activities, organizing workshops and meetings, and maintaining accurate records of all project documentation.
Logistics and Procurement Support: Assisting in logistical arrangements for project events, coordinating procurement of goods and services, and maintaining an updated inventory of project goods and equipment.
Reporting: Preparing inputs for quarterly and annual project progress reports, ensuring that all documentation is complete and up to date.
Other tasks as assigned by the project team to support effective implementation of project activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in economics, accounting, business management, development administration, or other relevant fields. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in programmatic and/or operational support is required. Candidates should also have a working knowledge of English and Bahasa Indonesia, and must be nationals of Indonesia. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively in teams, and a commitment to ethical practices and integrity in project management.
Educational Background: The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as economics, accounting, business management, or development administration. Candidates must have obtained their degree from an institution recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of three years of relevant experience in programmatic and operational support, particularly in the context of development projects. Experience in financial management, project administration, and logistics is highly desirable. Familiarity with government and FAO/UN development projects dealing with environmental issues will be an advantage.
Languages: Proficiency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia is mandatory for this position. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.
Additional Notes: This position is full-time and involves project management support duties.
