Job Overview:
The Multisectoral Program Manager is responsible for the overall coordination, quality, and timely implementation of SI's programs primarily in Khartoum and Al Jazeera States. This role involves supervising and supporting program teams across various sectors, including Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), and emergency response activities. The manager will work closely with the Deputy Field Coordinator, technical coordinators, Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) teams, and national partners to ensure coherence across projects. The position requires monitoring implementation and results, identifying operational or technical gaps, and proposing necessary adjustments to maintain program relevance, quality, and accountability. The role also involves navigating challenges related to team management, coordination, and adapting to new working conditions, especially in the context of ongoing conflict and humanitarian needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the overall coordination and timely implementation of SI's programs in Khartoum and Al Jazeera States.
  • Supervise and support program teams across WASH, FSL, and emergency response activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the Deputy Field Coordinator and technical coordinators to ensure project coherence.
  • Monitor project implementation and results, identifying gaps and proposing adjustments.
  • Manage WASH teams across two states, addressing challenges related to coordination and activity planning.
  • Motivate and build the capacity of team members to adapt to new working conditions.
  • Strengthen SI's WASH positioning and project planning within the first few months of the role.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the operational context and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with SI's quality standards and accountability measures in all program activities.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Public Health, or Humanitarian Studies.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least two years in a similar managerial position.
  • Strong expertise in Emergency WASH response, including design and supervision of WASH infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in program management tools, reporting, and budget planning.
  • Excellent report writing skills and the ability to coordinate with other WASH actors and local partners.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Public Health, or a related humanitarian discipline. This educational background is essential to ensure the candidate has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to manage complex humanitarian programs effectively.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least two years in a similar managerial role. This experience should include a strong focus on Emergency WASH response and program management, demonstrating the ability to lead teams and manage projects effectively in challenging environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization and with international partners. Proficiency in Arabic is considered an advantage, as it facilitates communication with local stakeholders and enhances the effectiveness of program implementation.

  • The role is based in Khartoum, Sudan, where living conditions are improving, with a vibrant social scene and low security risks. The compensation package includes a starting salary of EUR 2310 gross per month, a monthly per diem of USD 750, and coverage for accommodation and travel expenses. Additionally, the organization provides a break system allowing for time off every three months, along with an insurance package covering healthcare expenses and essential vaccinations.
