Job Overview: The Information ManagementAnalyst position at FAO is designed to provide critical support in data science, information management, and data visualization. The incumbent will play a vital role in managing data flows from various sources, ensuring data quality and security, and conducting thorough analyses to inform decision-making processes. The role involves collaborating with project managers and specialists to develop accessible visual information products such as dashboards, reports, and infographics. The analyst will also support the analysis" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Food Security Analysis Unit (FSAU) and the Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) unit, focusing on enhancing data management practices and improving the accessibility of information for stakeholders. This position requires a proactive approach to digitalization and real-time reporting, aiming to streamline data collection and reporting processes.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Information Management Analyst include:
Database Management: Setting up, managing, and maintaining robust database systems for storing Food Security, market, livelihoods, and early warning datasets.
Data Compilation & Analysis: Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting Food Security data from various internal and external sources, identifying trends to support assessments and estimates.
Geospatial & Remote Sensing Support: Collaborating with specialists to integrate geospatial data into FSAU products for monitoring and analysis.
Product Development: Creating high-quality information products for internal and external audiences.
Dashboard Development: Designing and maintaining interactive dashboards to visualize MEAL data and track program indicators.
KOBO Toolbox Support: Providing technical guidance on mobile data collection and form development.
Digitalization: Supporting the transition to automated reporting systems and improving data accessibility.
Technical Documentation: Developing SOPs and user guidance for consistent data management practices.
Data Quality Assurance: Ensuring data integrity through cleaning and quality checks. 1
Data Security: Complying with data privacy policies to protect sensitive information.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Management, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a related field. Additionally, at least 5 years of relevant experience in data management, statistical analysis, database administration, and information management is required. Candidates should have a working knowledge of English and Arabic and must be nationals of Sudan.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in fields related to data science, statistics, computer science, information management, or geographic information systems (GIS). This educational foundation is essential for understanding complex data management and analysis tasks that the role entails.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data management, statistical analysis, database administration, and information management. This experience should demonstrate a strong understanding of data processes and the ability to work with various data sources and tools effectively.
Languages: The mandatory languages for this position are English and Arabic, with a working knowledge (Level C) required in both. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication and collaboration within the organization and with stakeholders.
