Job Overview:
The Lead, Business Operations (LBO) plays a crucial role in the organization by providing leadership to the Business Operations Team and collaborating closely with the Finance and External Engagement departments. The LBO is tasked with enhancing organizational effectiveness through the development and execution of business strategies that improve operational performance and impact. This includes overseeing Award Management, conducting strategic analysis, and providing change management support to achieve organizational objectives. The LBO will also be responsible for monitoring performance indicators and ensuring alignment with Save the Children International and other member offices, thereby contributing to the overall mission of supporting children's rights and welfare.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The LBO's responsibilities encompass a wide range of functions aimed at improving business operations and performance. Key duties include identifying opportunities for operational efficiency, designing and implementing standardized business processes, and developing organizational performance indicators. The LBO will oversee award management, ensuring compliance with global standards and managing financial portfolios. Additionally, the role involves strategic planning, monitoring progress against objectives, and preparing analyses and presentations for senior leadership. The LBO will lead a team, providing direction and support while fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace culture. Other responsibilities include managing budgets, recruitment, and change management, as well as ensuring adherence to organizational policies and values.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent experience, along with a minimum of 5-7 years of management experience in International Development, NGOs, or the not-for-profit sector. Experience in a unionized environment is preferred, as is demonstrated project management experience, particularly in financial management. Strong analytical skills, proficiency in MS Excel, and the ability to work under tight deadlines are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in leading change management initiatives and developing cross-organization strategies, as well as a background in child rights programming in areas such as Health, Education, and Gender Equality. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for building relationships across diverse cultural and organizational settings.

Educational Background:
A relevant post-secondary education is required for this position, which may include degrees in fields such as business administration, international development, or social sciences. Equivalent experience in related roles may also be considered. The educational background should provide a solid foundation for understanding the complexities of managing operations within a non-profit organization focused on children's rights and welfare.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5-7 years of management experience, particularly in the context of International Development or non-profit organizations. Candidates should have a proven track record in project management, financial oversight, and leading teams in a dynamic environment. Experience in change management and strategic planning is highly valued, as is familiarity with child rights programming and the ability to navigate complex organizational structures.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, with French being considered an asset. Strong communication skills in both languages will enhance the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the organization's mission effectively.

Additional Notes:
This position offers a salary range of CAD $98,594.73 - $116,449.57, depending on skills and experience.
