Job Overview: The Donor Acquisition Specialist will report to the Donor Acquisition Manager and will be an integral part of the Mass Marketing team. This role is primarily focused on creating, planning, and managing Direct Response Television (DRTV) and Digital/Telemarketing Lead Conversion campaigns aimed at recruiting new donors. The specialist will be responsible for developing and testing new creative concepts, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring that donor acquisition and income targets are met. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to optimize campaigns and enhance the digital experience for potential donors. The specialist will also engage in training and monitoring call centers involved in conversion activities, ensuring high-quality interactions with potential donors.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Donor Acquisition Specialist will have a wide range of responsibilities, including:
Collaborating with the Donor Acquisition Manager to plan the annual budget and acquisition strategy for each channel, focusing on regular giving donors.
Managing vendors for DRTV and Lead Conversion campaigns, overseeing creative development, media buying, call center management, and reporting.
Leading weekly progress meetings and monthly reviews with vendors to ensure alignment and progress towards goals.
Creating and adapting new creative materials for campaigns, including videos and telemarketing scripts.
Engaging with Save the Children International (SCI) and other members to share best practices and identify new tests for donor acquisition.
Working with the Digital Fundraising Manager and external vendors to develop and optimize Lead Conversion campaigns.
Collaborating with Mass Marketing colleagues to maximize donor retention and ensure high-quality donor acquisition.
Training and supervising phone call centers involved in conversion activities and conducting regular quality checks.
Supporting negotiations and contracting with agencies and service providers. 1
Analyzing campaign performance and making data-driven decisions to pivot strategies as needed. 1
Identifying new potential services and service providers for donor acquisition channels. 1
Staying updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance campaign effectiveness.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent experience. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing DRTV, Telemarketing, and/or Lead Conversion fundraising campaigns is required, with a focus on income generation. Proven experience in managing external vendors to achieve results is essential. Candidates should demonstrate experience in developing, implementing, and measuring donor acquisition campaigns, as well as using data to inform decision-making. Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are necessary to build relationships across diverse audiences. Experience in the International Development or NGO sectors is preferred, along with project management skills and proficiency in MS Office tools. The ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances is crucial.
Educational Background: A post-secondary education in a relevant field is required, which may include degrees in marketing, communications, business administration, or related disciplines. Equivalent experience in a similar role may also be considered acceptable.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in managing fundraising campaigns, particularly in DRTV, Telemarketing, and Lead Conversion. Experience in the not-for-profit sector, particularly with organizations focused on international development or child welfare, is highly desirable. Demonstrated project management experience is also important, as is the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, and proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if it enhances communication with diverse donor populations or stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is covered under the CUPE Bargaining Unit and offers a salary range of $63,323.32 to $80,295.12 CAD, depending on skills and experience.
