Job Overview: The Donor Care Coordinator plays a crucial role in enhancing the donor experience at Save the Children. This position is responsible for providing exceptional donor stewardship and managing retention activities for various levels of giving, including one-time and recurring donations. The coordinator will ensure the accuracy of gift processing, tax receipting, and donor communications. This role requires close collaboration with the database team, internal stakeholders, and fundraising leads to facilitate gift processing for major gifts, corporate donations, foundation contributions, and planned giving portfolios. The Donor Care Coordinator will also be involved in delivering timely donor communications, overseeing donor fulfillment, and supporting donor retention initiatives, making it a vital position within the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Donor Care Coordinator will handle inbound and outbound donor communications across multiple channels, ensuring timely delivery of donor communications such as receipts, welcome packs, and thank you calls. The coordinator will support the delivery of donor care and stewardship for Major Gifts, Corporate, Estate, and Planned Giving portfolios. Responsibilities include delivering tax receipting and donor acknowledgments in compliance with CRA regulations, overseeing donor fulfillment according to fundraising campaign requirements, and playing a leading role in donor retention and re-engagement processes. The coordinator will accurately process donations and returned mail, perform data entry tasks including creating and updating records in the CRM, and support vendor file processing for donations made via third parties. Regular updates on key Donor Care activities and results will be provided to Resource Development colleagues and other internal stakeholders. Additionally, the coordinator will support the annual audit and respond to requests for information.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess post-secondary education in a relevant field or equivalent experience. A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a similar role is required, with a preference for candidates who have experience in International Development, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO/INGO), or other not-for-profit sectors. The ability to work some evenings and weekends is necessary, along with proven experience in donor or customer retention and sales skills. Advanced communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills are essential for building strong working relationships across diverse audiences. Candidates should demonstrate project management experience and proficiency with MS Office tools and relevant technologies. Analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial for supporting initiatives, and candidates must be adaptable to change management processes. The ability to make sound decisions in adherence to policies and procedures is also required.
Educational Background: The position requires post-secondary education in a relevant field, which may include areas such as communications, business administration, or nonprofit management. Equivalent experience in donor relations or customer service roles may also be considered in lieu of formal education. Candidates should have a solid understanding of fundraising principles and practices, particularly in the context of nonprofit organizations.

Additional Notes: This position is covered under the CUPE Bargaining Unit and offers a salary range of $50,752.78 - $62,781.65 CAD, depending on skills and experience. The role is based in a hybrid workplace, allowing for remote work and flexible hours to support employee well-being.
