Job Overview: The director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director will play a pivotal role in leading and managing ACF's operations in Myanmar, ensuring that the organization's mission and vision are effectively implemented in the country. This position requires a strategic thinker who can develop and oversee the country strategy in alignment with regional contexts and ACF's overall goals. The Country Director will be responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of ACF's programs, ensuring that they are effective and responsive to the needs of the population. This role also involves building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, including donors, government agencies, and civil society organizations, to enhance ACF's impact on malnutrition and related issues. The Country Director will ensure the safety and security of staff and operations, manage human resources effectively, and oversee financial and logistical resources in compliance with ACF policies and donor requirements. Additionally, the Country Director will represent ACF at national and international levels, advocating for the organization's programs and securing necessary support for its initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation, updating, and implementation of the country strategy in line with ACF's vision and mission.
Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of ACF's programs and projects to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
Develop and enhance relationships with donors, civil society, private sector, and government agencies to maximize ACF's impact.
Ensure the security management of staff and operations, including responding to security threats and incidents.
Manage and develop human resources within the country office, fostering a shared vision among staff.
Oversee the mobilization and management of financial and logistical resources in accordance with ACF policies.
Act as the key liaison between the field and headquarters, maintaining good working relationships and complying with information demands.
Ensure ACF's accountability and fiscal responsibility in the country.
Facilitate linkages with national entities and partners to implement ACF's strategy effectively. 1
Experience in external representation and promoting programs with stakeholders and potential donors. 1
Demonstrated leadership in collaboration with other humanitarian and development actors.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a postgraduate (master's) degree or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, complemented by extensive professional experience in humanitarian and development contexts. A strong academic background in areas related to international development, public health, or social sciences is preferred, as it aligns with the responsibilities of the Country Director role.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 8 years in humanitarian and development sectors. A significant portion of this experience should be in senior management or leadership roles, demonstrating the ability to lead teams and manage complex programs. Previous experience as a Country Director or in a similar leadership position is essential, along with a proven track record of working in challenging environments, particularly in Asia.
Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in French is considered a plus, as it may enhance communication with international stakeholders. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Myanmar would also be advantageous, facilitating better engagement with local communities and partners.

The monthly gross salary ranges from €3,572 to €4,128, depending on experience, and includes a 13th-month salary. Non-French citizens will receive a pension insurance reimbursement of 16% of their gross monthly salary. Additional benefits include a monthly per diem and living allowance of €504 net, a country allowance of €450, and a child allowance of €1,500 per year per child. Transportation and accommodation costs will be covered, including serviced apartments in Chiang Mai and Yangon. ACF provides comprehensive medical coverage, including health and repatriation insurance for employees and their dependents. Employees are entitled to 25 days of paid leave per year, 20 rest and recuperation days, and airfare reimbursement for chosen break destinations.
