Job Overview: The Programme Associate (CP Payment) position at WFP is designed to provide specialized support and technical analyses to policy and program activities that effectively meet the requirements of food assistance programs. The role involves coordinating with various managers to manage, plan, monitor, and utilize grants for the Field Level Agreement (FLA) budget and cash-based transfers. The associate will be responsible for reviewing and processing monthly payments, creating service outline agreements, and managing purchase requests within WFP's corporate financial system. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and compliant with WFP standards. The associate will also provide technical support and training to staff, ensuring a thorough understanding of WFP payment procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Associate (CP Payment) include: coordinating with SO Managers and Activity Managers for managing and planning grants; reviewing and processing monthly CP payments; creating and releasing service outline agreements in WFP's financial system; managing purchase requests for cash and food distribution agreements; ensuring timely recognition of expenses in WINGS; maintaining accurate records and files in compliance with standard procedures; providing cash forecasts to Finance; reviewing and updating standard operating procedures in collaboration with the NGO Partnership Officer; providing technical support and training to WFP and cooperating partner staff; participating in periodic spot checks; and assisting in the implementation of improvement plans within the cash-based transfer and payment focal areas. The associate will play a key role in ensuring that all financial operations are conducted smoothly and in accordance with WFP policies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a post-secondary certificate in a related functional area, along with a minimum of six years of progressively responsible work experience in partnership, fund, and financial management. The ideal candidate should have experience working with technical teams, contributing to program implementation, and assisting with policy discussions.
