Job Overview: The Consultant (Information Management & Reporting) position at WFP is crucial for leading all Operational Information Management and Performance Reporting (OIM & PR) activities within the country office. The role involves tracking and meeting reporting needs, adapting reporting practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of reporting functions, and ensuring that a standard and consistent operational picture of WFP's activities is presented. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Consultant include leading technical staff in the preparation of reports, ensuring adherence to standard OIM & PR procedures and templates, and driving the quality and consistency of information management and performance reporting across WFP. The consultant will serve as a subject matter expert on WFP operations in Myanmar, capturing and synthesizing relevant information and data from both internal and external sources. This role also involves collating, analyzing, and communicating essential elements of information related to the operational environment and available resources. The consultant will lead the preparation of the Annual Country Report (ACR) in collaboration with various functions within the country office, ensuring coherence and quality of performance information. Additionally, the consultant will support the preparation of high-level key messages and briefing materials for the Senior Leadership Team, assist technical teams in translating evidence into high-quality knowledge products, and enhance the capacity of WFP staff in managing operational information through training and guidance. The consultant will also be involved in drafting normative guidance for OIM & PR and ensuring quality standards in all related products.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Information Management, Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences, or a related field. Alternatively, a first university degree with additional years of relevant work experience and/or training may be acceptable. The role requires specialized knowledge of information management best practices and techniques, as well as strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to conduct substantive analysis and report writing. Candidates should also demonstrate the ability to supervise and support junior team members and have a good understanding of UN/WFP-specific processes and systems.
