Job Overview: The Staff Assistant (TOPFAS Management) position is integral to the Plans Branch of the Joint Logistics Support Group Headquarters. The role involves managing the Tool for Operational Planning Functional Area System (TOPFAS), which is essential for the development and execution of tactical plans and orders. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining and updating TOPFAS data, providing advice and training on TOPFAS issues, and ensuring the integrity and completeness of information related to the Plans Branch. This position requires a proactive approach to support the Branch Head and Section Heads in coordinating with other staff branches and organizing meetings, conferences, and training exercises. The Staff Assistant will also contribute to the overall operational planning and training preparation, making this role vital for the success of the JLSG HQ's missions.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Staff Assistant will have a variety of duties, including but not limited to: maintaining and updating TOPFAS data relevant to the Plans Branch; providing advice and guidance on TOPFAS issues to all members of the JLSG HQ; conducting limited training sessions on TOPFAS as needed; managing internal correspondence and taskers within the Plans Branch; ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information stored and distributed; assisting the Branch Head and Section Heads in coordination efforts; organizing meetings, video teleconferences (VTCs), and conferences; ensuring the administrative organization of the Branch; and contributing to Real Life Support during exercises and operations. The role may also require the incumbent to perform similar duties in other areas of the organization at the same grade and to undertake deployments in support of military operations and exercises.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess higher secondary education and vocational training in logistics, transport, or a related discipline, leading to a formal technical or professional certification with at least three years of function-related experience. Alternatively, candidates with secondary education and advanced vocational training in the same fields, along with five years of post-related experience, will also be considered. Experience in logistics management and developing plans and policy guidance for logistics management programs is essential. Additionally, candidates should have advanced knowledge of TOPFAS, with a minimum of six months of experience in a similar role.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes higher secondary education complemented by vocational training in logistics, transport, or a related discipline. Candidates should have formal technical or professional certification in these areas. A secondary education with advanced vocational training leading to professional qualification or accreditation is also acceptable, provided the candidate has the requisite years of experience in logistics management.
