Job Overview: The Principal, Data and Analytics Quality Engineering Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the quality engineering strategy across the Data & Analytics platform estate. This position is designed for a leader who is passionate about transforming quality from a mere checkpoint into a strategic engineering capability. The role involves driving intelligent automation and embedding quality throughout the delivery process, ensuring that enterprise data, integration, and analytics platforms are rigorously tested, validated, and trusted. The successful candidate will work across a diverse technology landscape, including Microsoft Fabric, EBX, Azure Integration Services, Informatica IDMC, and Control-M orchestration, to implement modern quality engineering practices and AI-driven insights. This position is not just about maintaining standards; it is about redefining how quality is perceived and executed within the organization, making a significant impact in a complex and regulated environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Define and lead the Quality Engineering strategy across the Data & Analytics platform estate, ensuring quality is integrated from design through to operational support.
Lead platform-wide assurance across Microsoft Fabric, EBX, Azure Integration Services, Informatica IDMC, and Control-M, ensuring consistent quality standards and governance controls.
Embed automation-first testing into CI/CD pipelines, covering various testing types including functional, regression, and data quality validations.
Define validation approaches for Microsoft Fabric workloads, including Lakehouse and Warehouse structures.
Establish QA practices for EBX master and reference data capabilities, ensuring data integrity and governance.
Define assurance patterns for Azure Integration Services, including API testing and event-driven integration.
Lead QA for Informatica IDMC, focusing on data integration services and migration assurance.
Shape testing for Control-M orchestration, covering batch scheduling and operational handover.
Align QA practices with regulatory frameworks and modern delivery models. 1
Partner with business domain experts to ensure data accuracy and operational resilience are built into test strategies. 1
Drive innovation in testing using AI/ML techniques and performance engineering. 1
Elevate engineering maturity through continuous improvement and measurable QE outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Demonstrable experience leading QA or Quality Engineering across modern Data & Analytics platforms.
Strong experience testing modern data platform configurations and data flows.
Practical understanding of Microsoft Fabric workloads and related technologies.
Experience validating end-to-end data flows across various systems.
Strong working knowledge of EBX, Azure Integration Services, and Informatica IDMC.
Proficiency in writing technical validation queries and scripts.
Experience embedding testing into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
Strong leadership experience in Quality Engineering within regulated environments.
Proven ability to define comprehensive test strategies for complex delivery programmes. 1
Deep knowledge of test automation frameworks and performance validation.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically required. Advanced certifications in Quality Engineering or related disciplines may be preferred, particularly those that demonstrate a commitment to quality leadership and best practices in the field.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in Quality Engineering, particularly within enterprise or financial services environments. A strong background in leading QA initiatives across complex data and analytics platforms is essential, along with a proven track record of implementing quality strategies that align with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Additional languages may be beneficial but are not required.
Additional Notes: This position is a fixed-term contract lasting for 3 years. It is a full-time role based in London, United Kingdom.
