Job Overview: The Asistente Senior de Gestión de Datos will play a crucial role in leading the strategies and monitoring the management of programmatic and financial data for the livelihood and resilience projects of WFP in Colombia. This position is essential for ensuring that data management processes are efficient and effective, contributing to the reporting and processing of information in line with the established goals of the unit and the Annual Operational Plan (POA). The role requires a strong focus on data integrity, analysis, and the ability to communicate complex results clearly to various stakeholders. The Asistente will work closely with the Resilience and Climate Change Officer and the Livelihoods and Resilience Officer, providing technical guidance and support to field teams and ensuring that data collection and reporting processes are adhered to. This position is vital for the successful implementation and monitoring of WFP's projects aimed at achieving security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security and sustainable development in Colombia.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the implementation and supervision of Monitoring Plans, fund programming, and the implementation of FLA, among others, according to established roadmaps and priorities.
Provide technical guidance to field teams and verify the management, consolidation, and reporting processes of data, information, financial management, and project indicators reported by cooperating partners and direct implementation activities.
Organize, analyze, validate, and consolidate qualitative data/information collected on project product indicators to prepare reports and bulletins, facilitating decision-making by the program officer and project team.
Prepare infographics, reports, dashboards, and periodic reports with reliable and supported data to account for WFP operations in project development, generating evidence and systematizing project experiences.
Develop and follow up on a training/strengthening plan for technical team members of assigned projects, executing entities, and collaborating partners in the timely collection, management, and delivery of information. Ensure proper use of platforms and the dissemination, socialization, and analysis of beneficiary data and program activities, adhering to standards for secure data exchange and data management policies.
Monitor and propose processes to improve the mechanisms, timeliness, and quality of information reported by executing entities and cooperating partners, in coordination with the programmatic team of the Livelihoods and Resilience Unit.
Generate agile, interoperable tools that systematize information, as well as monitor and review the information repository of associated projects, validating coherence with the Logical Framework of project results, including means of verification, reports, and all necessary inputs to support traceability.
Address and follow up on various inquiries and support requests related to the position, following standard processes and guidance provided by the supervisor and the programmatic project team.
Perform other tasks as requested by the supervisor related to the position.
Required Qualifications: Minimum required qualifications include the completion of secondary education. A university degree in Environmental Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, Computer Science, or related fields is desirable. Other areas of training will be considered if relevant experience is provided. Specific experience requirements include a minimum of 5 years in database management, including creating data structures, organized storage, and ensuring data integrity, as well as conducting quantitative and qualitative data analysis. Additionally, at least 2 years of experience in monitoring and financial tracking, preferably in social, environmental, or cooperation-focused projects, is required. Experience in preparing reports and presentations that summarize complex results clearly for different audiences is also necessary. Familiarity with environmental management, resilience, and/or climate change adaptation projects is advantageous. Strong computer skills, including advanced proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), programming, visualization, architecture, applications, databases, and office technology management are essential. Knowledge of MS SQL Server, Excel Stata, Indesign, and programming is desirable. Understanding of WFP standards, guidelines, and procedures, or those of other UN agencies/programs is a plus. Experience working in multicultural and social environments, and with national organizations and authorities at various levels is also beneficial.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes the completion of secondary education as a minimum. A university degree in relevant fields such as Environmental Sciences, Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, or Computer Science is preferred. Candidates with other educational backgrounds may be considered if they possess relevant experience that aligns with the job requirements.
