Job Overview:
The Programme Policy Officer (OIM & Communication) will play a pivotal role in enhancing the analytical, strategic, and reporting functions of the WFP country office in Armenia. This position is crucial for ensuring that WFP’s interventions are informed by robust evidence and aligned with both corporate standards and national priorities. The officer will lead and coordinate all activities related to Operations Information Management (OIM) and communication, ensuring that high-quality information supports evidence-based decision-making and donor engagement. The role involves strengthening information management systems, knowledge sharing, and communication efforts to enhance operational effectiveness, accountability, and impact. The officer will also be responsible for ensuring that accurate, timely, and accessible operational information is available to support decision-making, program performance monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director and direct supervision of the Head of Programme, the Programme Policy Officer (OIM and Communications) will be responsible for a variety of duties, including: supporting the Head of Programme in the design, implementation, and oversight of programs; providing project management support to ensure compliance with WFP standards; ensuring alignment in data collection and reporting processes; contributing to the design and implementation of systems that support effective operational information management; providing technical advice to integrate OIM and program policies; overseeing the collation and dissemination of operational analysis; leading the preparation of the Annual Country Report and other corporate reporting exercises; collaborating with UN agencies to ensure consistency in humanitarian information; enhancing the capacity of WFP staff and partners in managing operational information; coordinating Operational Task Forces during emergencies; contributing to the development of quality standards in OIM processes; and leading the planning and dissemination of communications products to highlight WFP Armenia’s work.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Public Health, Information Management, Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should have at least seven years of professional experience in designing and implementing information management systems, analytical products, reporting frameworks, communications, knowledge management, or program implementation. Strong familiarity with the UN humanitarian system and experience in emergency preparedness and response are desirable. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to foster partnerships and work effectively with diverse teams, as well as possess excellent oral and written communication skills for diverse audiences.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Political Science, Economics, Statistics, Public Health, Information Management, Journalism, Business Management, Social Sciences, or other related disciplines. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and the analytical skills needed for effective program management and communication.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of seven years of professional experience in relevant fields, including designing and implementing information management systems, analytical products, reporting frameworks, communications, and program implementation. Candidates should have a proven track record of fostering partnerships and working effectively within diverse teams. Familiarity with the UN humanitarian system and experience in emergency preparedness and response are considered advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Armenian is mandatory for this position, with a proficiency level of C. Additional languages are desirable and may enhance a candidate's suitability for the role, particularly in a multicultural and diverse working environment.
