Job Overview: The Project Assistant position at IOM Armenia involves supporting the implementation and monitoring of project activities under the supervision of the Head of Office and the Project Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various project implementation support tasks, which include retrieving, compiling, summarizing, and presenting information and data on specific project topics. The role also requires monitoring the project budget, verifying the availability of funds, obtaining necessary approvals, and updating budget-related information. The Project Assistant will support the administrative coordination of project implementation, liaising with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, and process administrative actions. Additionally, the candidate will draft status reports, correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other forms of documentation. Organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions, as well as responding to general information requests and inquiries, are also key responsibilities of this role. The Project Assistant will maintain files and records and perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the IOM Mission in Armenia.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Assistant include:
Assisting in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
Retrieving, compiling, summarizing, and presenting information/data on specific project topics.
Monitoring the project budget and verifying the availability of funds.
Obtaining necessary approvals and updating budget-related information.
Supporting administrative coordination of project implementation, including liaising with diverse organizational units and external parties.
Drafting status reports and identifying shortfalls in delivery to bring to the attention of the supervisor.
Drafting correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other documentation.
Organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
Responding to general information requests and inquiries. 1

Performing other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Project Assistant position include:
A school diploma with four years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.
Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups.
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-governmental, or government institutions/organizations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess either a school diploma with four years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or related fields from an accredited academic institution. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have relevant professional experience, which can be either four years with a school diploma or two years with a Bachelor’s degree. Languages: Fluency in Armenian and English is required for this position, both oral and written. All IOM staff members are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages (English, French, Spanish). A working knowledge of Russian is desirable, and proficiency in the required languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
