Job Overview:
In this critical role, the Education Specialist Cluster Coordinator will report to the Chief Education (Programme/Cluster) and will be responsible for the effective coordination of the Education Cluster in Haiti. This position is crucial during humanitarian emergencies, ensuring a timely, strategic, and accountable education response. The coordinator will facilitate collaboration among government counterparts, UN agencies, NGOs, and other partners to strengthen partnerships, promote information sharing, and ensure that humanitarian education interventions align with the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) core functions and humanitarian standards. The role involves supporting strategic coordination, fostering partnerships, strengthening program delivery, and promoting innovation and learning in education interventions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Education Specialist Cluster Coordinator include coordinating humanitarian education actors in Haiti, developing sectoral plans, monitoring the performance of the cluster, networking and building partnerships, managing innovation and knowledge, and capacity building. The coordinator will also support education programs, ensuring that they are effectively implemented and aligned with the needs of crisis-affected children and communities. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to achieve common goals in education during emergencies.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a completed advanced university degree (Master’s degree) in fields such as education, pedagogy, psychology, sociology, international development, management, social sciences, or another relevant technical field. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in program planning, coordination, management, and/or research in education, with experience in humanitarian contexts being essential. Strong leadership and management skills are also required to navigate high-stress environments effectively.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have an advanced university degree (Master’s degree) in relevant fields such as education, pedagogy, psychology, sociology, international development, management, social sciences, or other technical areas related to education and humanitarian response.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in program planning, coordination, and management in the education sector is required. Experience in humanitarian contexts is essential, and candidates with experience in senior management roles or cluster coordination within complex country programs during emergencies will be preferred. Relevant experience in program management within a UN system agency or organization is considered an asset, along with experience in developing contexts.

Languages:
Fluency in French and intermediate level of English are mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language such as Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, or Russian is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's profile.
