Job Overview:
The Short Live Climate Pollutant (SLCP) Technical Unit Senior Lead is a pivotal role within the WRI Indonesia, specifically designed to oversee the operations of the Indonesia SLCP Unit. This position is crucial for the effective management and implementation of SLCP mitigation policies and actions in Indonesia. The Senior Lead will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of technical, operational, and coordination functions. The role involves high-level policy engagement and strategic alignment with various government agencies and stakeholders. The Senior Lead will also be tasked with addressing complex programmatic challenges, balancing diverse interests, and ensuring the successful execution of the Unit's objectives. This position requires a strong commitment to integrating equity and inclusive practices into all aspects of program implementation and stakeholder engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the SLCP Technical Unit Senior Lead include:

• Leading the planning, implementation, and operational management of the Indonesia SLCP Unit, ensuring effective delivery of annual work plans and program objectives.
• Developing and maintaining the Unit's operational strategy, governance arrangements, and sustainability roadmap.
• Coordinating the national SLCP work program in collaboration with various ministries, provincial governments, and development partners.
• Overseeing daily operations, ensuring timely delivery of outputs and achievement of performance indicators.
• Establishing governance and coordination mechanisms to strengthen policy coherence.
• Supervising and mentoring a multidisciplinary team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Preparing work plans, budgets, progress reports, and technical deliverables.
• Monitoring program performance and developing mitigation strategies for identified risks.
• Overseeing financial planning, budget utilization, and compliance with donor policies. 1
• Strengthening institutional capacity through technical assistance and knowledge exchange. 1
• Building strategic relationships with government institutions, development partners, and the private sector. 1
• Supporting high-level policy dialogues and ministerial engagements. 1
• Identifying funding opportunities to ensure the sustainability of the SLCP Unit. 1
• Representing WRI Indonesia in national and international forums and promoting knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a Master's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, climate policy, public policy, economics, urban planning, international development, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may also be considered. Candidates must have a minimum of five years of professional experience in program or portfolio management within environmental, climate, air quality, waste management, energy, or sustainable development programs, preferably in an international organization. Demonstrated experience in building strategic partnerships and managing donor-funded programs is essential. Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and consensus-building are also required, along with a solid understanding of project and grant management, financial oversight, and monitoring and evaluation.

Educational Background:
Candidates should possess a Master's degree in a relevant field such as environmental science, environmental engineering, climate policy, public policy, economics, urban planning, or international development. Professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education, particularly for those with extensive relevant experience in the field.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of professional experience is required, specifically in program or portfolio management related to environmental issues, climate change, air quality, waste management, or sustainable development. Experience in managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and institutions is crucial, as is a proven track record of building and maintaining strategic partnerships with government institutions and development partners.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is mandatory, with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position with a fixed-term employment agreement for six months, with the possibility of extension up to December 31, 2027, depending on individual performance, project needs, and budget availability. The role requires existing work authorization in Indonesia, as WRI is unable to sponsor visa work sponsorship. The position involves a hybrid working model, requiring eight days per month in the office, along with domestic and international travel as necessary.
