Job Overview:
The Humanitarian Mine Action Business Development Officer (HMA BDO) plays a crucial role within the Armed Violence Reduction (AVR) Division, primarily fulfilling the Associate to Director (ATD) function concerning business development responsibilities. Reporting directly to the AVR Technical Director, the HMA BDO is expected to take on four main responsibilities. Firstly, the officer will be involved in project writing, where they will either take the lead or contribute to proposal coordination and writing, working closely with technical specialists and country teams. Secondly, the officer will collect and analyze business development data, conduct strategic scanning on donor priorities, sector trends, and competitor positioning, and translate insights into actionable recommendations. Thirdly, the HMA BDO will function as a 'control tower' for project opportunities across the organization, monitoring and managing the BizDev funnel in collaboration with various teams. Lastly, the officer will represent the organization to donors, ensuring effective communication and coordination of HI's participation in relevant events. This position requires a proactive approach to business development and a strong understanding of the humanitarian sector.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Humanitarian Mine Action Business Development Officer include:

• Project Writing: Leading or contributing to proposal coordination and writing, ensuring collaboration with technical specialists and country teams.
• Business Development Intelligence: Collecting and analyzing data related to business development, monitoring donor priorities, sector trends, and competitor positioning, and preparing reports for internal stakeholders.
• Control Tower Function: Overseeing all project opportunities across the organization, managing the BizDev funnel, and ensuring effective communication and collaboration with various teams.
• Donor Representation: Coordinating relations with donors, producing communication materials, and leading HI's participation in key events related to the AVR Division.
• Supporting HI staff in building their business development competencies and ensuring data quality in the CRM system.
• Monitoring and reporting on funding perspectives and opportunities for the AVR Division.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Humanitarian Mine Action Business Development Officer position include a Master's degree in international development or a related field, along with Results-Based Project Management training. Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in the humanitarian sector, with demonstrated experience in proposal writing, business development, consortium management, and donor relations. Experience in Humanitarian Mine Action and familiarity with data management and monitoring tools are also essential. Prior experience in strategic planning or organizational development is desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in international development or a similar field. Additionally, training in Results-Based Project Management is required to ensure that the officer can effectively manage projects and contribute to the organization's goals.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in the humanitarian sector. Candidates should have a proven track record in proposal writing, business development, consortium management, and donor relations. Experience specifically related to Humanitarian Mine Action is essential, as well as familiarity with data management and monitoring tools. Prior experience in strategic planning or organizational development is considered an asset.

Languages:
A strong command of English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Proficiency in French is highly desirable, given the location of the position and the need to communicate effectively with local stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages may be beneficial but is not required.

• The annual gross salary starts at 38,000 euros.
