Job Overview:
The position of SECONDMENT - Assistant Director EDPP/EO is crucial within INTERPOL's Executive Directorate Partnerships and Planning (EDPP). The incumbent will oversee the daily functions of the EDPP Executive Office, which includes planning, coordination, prioritization, and management of various operational, organizational, and administrative issues. This role requires a strong ability to design and assist the Executive Director in developing and implementing strategic initiatives. The Assistant Director will interact at high levels both within and outside the organization, manage a team, and ensure effective coordination of key deliverables and reporting to senior management. The position also involves proposing new policies and handling files with a significant degree of autonomy, making it essential for the candidate to possess strong leadership and management skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Executive Director Partnerships & Planning in managing activities within the EDPP, including planning, coordination, and prioritization of corporate and administrative tasks. This includes making recommendations to enhance procedures and policies, drafting correspondence and reports, identifying challenges, and proposing actions.
  • Manage the EDPP Executive Office, ensuring effective delivery against priorities and activities, acting as the point of contact with other departments regarding budget, finance, and staffing.
  • Assist in managing stakeholder relationships, organizing meetings, representing EDPP in discussions, and maintaining collaborative relationships with member countries and international organizations.
  • Supervise the work of EDPP Executive Office staff, guiding project teams, monitoring progress, and keeping the Executive Director informed.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the hierarchy.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have at least four years of university education and a minimum of 10 years of working experience, with proven management experience and a track record of leading diverse teams. Experience in international diplomacy or strategic policy development is an asset, as is experience in transformational change through IT applications. Candidates should also have experience interacting with member-based international organizations.

Educational Background:
A minimum of four years of university education is required for this position, ensuring that candidates have a solid academic foundation to support their professional experience and responsibilities within INTERPOL.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of working experience, with a strong emphasis on management and leadership capabilities. Candidates should demonstrate a proven track record in leading diverse teams and managing complex projects. Experience in international diplomacy or strategic policy development and implementation is highly desirable, as is experience in transformational change, particularly through IT applications.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in a second official working language, such as Arabic, French, or Spanish, is considered an additional asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a multilingual environment.

The position is a secondment role with a duration of 36 months.
