Job Overview:
The position of Criminal Intelligence Officer within INTERPOL's Organized & Emerging Crime Directorate is crucial for maintaining and developing the INTERPOL 'Worst of' List (IWOL) and BASELINE systems. The officer will be responsible for providing operational, investigative, and technical support to member countries, particularly in the context of crimes against children. This role requires a strong understanding of online child sexual exploitation and abuse (OCSEA) and involves working with sensitive materials related to child abuse cases. The officer will engage with various stakeholders, manage databases, and contribute to training and capacity-building efforts, all while ensuring the integrity and functionality of critical systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Criminal Intelligence Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:

• IWOL System Maintenance: Ensuring the operational functionality of the IWOL workstation and server, analyzing and validating domains for inclusion, and maintaining the accuracy of the IWOL list.
• BASELINE System Maintenance: Classifying OCSEA material, maintaining the BASELINE list, and ensuring active participation in its management.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Communicating with external partners to integrate IWOL and BASELINE lists into their services and supporting partnership processes.
• ICSE Database Management: Operating INTERPOL’s International Child Sexual Exploitation media database, engaging with users, and participating in system testing.
• Capacity Building: Preparing and delivering training related to the above activities.
• Documentation Development: Drafting operational standards and documentation.
• Participation in Forums: Engaging in international forums and delivering presentations.
• Additional Tasks: Carrying out other duties related to Crimes Against Children as required by management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field. Additionally, they should have at least three years of experience in investigating online crimes against children, with a requirement of ten years of experience if the educational qualifications are not met. Proven experience in police services is also necessary.

Educational Background:
A minimum of three to four years of education at a university level, specifically in fields related to computer science or information technology, is required for this position. This educational background is essential for understanding the technical aspects of the role and the systems involved in combating online crimes.

Experience:
The position requires at least three years of relevant experience in investigating online crimes against children. If the candidate does not meet the educational requirements, a total of ten years of experience in the field is necessary. Proven experience in police services is also a critical requirement for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. A working knowledge of other official INTERPOL languages, such as Arabic, French, or Spanish, would be considered an additional asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and partners.

Additional Notes:
The position is a secondment role with a duration of 36 months. It is important to note that candidates must secure confirmation from their home Administration/Agency/Service/Government regarding the conditions of secondment, including salary and benefits during their assignment at INTERPOL. The role requires a high level of adaptability, as it involves exposure to sensitive materials and frequent international travel. Additionally, candidates should be aware of INTERPOL's age-limit regulation, which may affect employment duration for those reaching the age of 65 during their appointment.
