Job Overview:
The Private Sector Development Analyst position is crucial for the effective management and implementation of the Surging Women’s Employment Flagship Initiative (SWEI) Programme, which aims to increase women's employment by 5% by 203
  • This role focuses on enhancing decent employment opportunities for women by improving gender-responsive workplaces and fostering transformative partnerships with the private sector. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders, including government officials, UN agencies, and civil society, to ensure the successful implementation of UN Women’s initiatives. The position requires a strong understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment, particularly in the context of economic participation and private sector engagement. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the development of program strategies for private sector engagement, providing substantive inputs to project proposals and identifying areas for intervention.
  • Support the implementation and management of programs related to private sector engagement and Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) signatories, including leading the coordination of proposals and monitoring partner reports.
  • Provide technical assistance and capacity development to partners to enhance women's economic empowerment, maintaining relationships with national partners and facilitating training as needed.
  • Monitor and report on program implementation, using results-based management tools to track progress and draft reports for donors and UN Women.
  • Manage financial aspects of the program, including budget monitoring and revisions, and provide inputs for financial reporting.
  • Assist in building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies, preparing documentation for donor meetings and public events.
  • Support inter-agency coordination efforts to align UN Women’s programs with other partners in the country.
  • Contribute to advocacy and knowledge-building efforts, developing materials and organizing events related to private sector engagement and WEPs.
  • Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in fields such as economics, business administration, social sciences, or related areas. A first-level university degree combined with two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. A project/programme management certification is considered an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of gender equality and women's empowerment, particularly in relation to economic participation and private sector engagement. Experience in development program implementation, monitoring, and evaluation is essential, along with the ability to provide advisory support to the private sector on women's economic empowerment.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes a Master’s degree or equivalent in relevant fields such as economics, business administration, or social sciences. Alternatively, a first-level university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted. A project/programme management certification would be beneficial and enhance a candidate's profile.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 2 years of progressively responsible work experience in development program/project implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation. Experience in gender-related programs and providing advisory support to the private sector on women's economic empowerment is required. Familiarity with UN operations and experience in liaising with government agencies and donors is desirable. Proficiency in using office software and web-based management systems is also necessary.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as French, is considered desirable and may enhance a candidate's qualifications.
