Job Overview:
The Driver position within the UNHCR Office is crucial for the smooth operation of the organization's activities in Sudan. The incumbent will be responsible for driving UNHCR vehicles, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of authorized personnel, and maintaining the assigned vehicles in accordance with the organization's technical guidance and specifications. Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Driver include:

• Driving UNHCR vehicles for the transport of authorized passengers and the delivery and collection of documents and other items.
• Meeting official personnel at airports or other locations and facilitating immigration and customs formalities as required.
• Performing day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicles, including checking oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, and ensuring that the vehicles are roadworthy and maintained according to established security standards.
• Performing minor repairs and arranging for other repairs as necessary, while ensuring that the vehicle is kept clean.
• Logging official trips, daily mileage, gas consumption, oil changes, and greasing.
• Following instructions and security guidance provided by the supervisor and security focal point.
• Ensuring valid documentation for passengers, items, or cargo in the vehicle.
• Supporting the identification and management of risks and seeking opportunities impacting objectives in the area of responsibility.
• Raising risks, issues, and concerns to a supervisor or relevant functional colleagues. 1
• Performing other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Driver position include:

• A valid driving license and knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
• Completion of Primary Education or a High School Diploma or higher.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
• Essential functional skills include basic vehicle mechanical skills and knowledge of driving rules and regulations.
• Strong commitment to road safety and demonstrated defensive driving skills.
• Proven experience as a professional driver in an international organization, UN agency, government institution, or similar professional environment.
• Basic administrative and record-keeping skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with UNHCR personnel, partners, and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and follow operational instructions while complying with UNHCR safety, security, and administrative procedures. 1

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Driver position includes the completion of Primary Education or a High School Diploma.
