Job Overview: The IOM Consultant Videographer position is designed for a creative individual who will be responsible for producing high-quality video content that effectively communicates the organization's mission and activities. The consultant will work closely with various teams within IOM to capture and edit video footage that highlights the impact of IOM's work in the field of migration. This role requires a strong understanding of storytelling through visual media, as well as technical skills in videography and editing software. The consultant is expected to deliver compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences, including stakeholders, donors, and the general public. Additionally, the videographer will be tasked with ensuring that all video content aligns with IOM's branding and messaging guidelines, contributing to the organization's overall communication strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with IOM teams to identify key stories and themes for video production.
Plan, shoot, and edit video content that effectively conveys IOM's mission and activities.
Ensure high production quality by utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques.
Conduct interviews with staff, beneficiaries, and stakeholders to gather impactful testimonials.
Manage video projects from conception to completion, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
Maintain an organized library of video footage and assets for future use.
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in videography and video marketing.
Provide creative input and suggestions for enhancing video content and storytelling techniques.
Ensure compliance with IOM's branding and messaging standards in all video outputs. 1
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the overall communication strategy of IOM.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience as a videographer, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar.
Strong understanding of videography techniques, including lighting, sound, and composition.
Excellent storytelling skills with the ability to convey complex messages through visual media.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and project requirements.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in film production, media studies, communications, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. Additional certifications in videography or related disciplines are a plus.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in videography or video production is required. Experience working with non-profit organizations or in the field of migration is highly desirable. Familiarity with international development and humanitarian issues will be an advantage.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Thai or other languages relevant to the region is considered an asset, as it may enhance communication with local stakeholders and beneficiaries.
Additional Notes: This position is a consultancy role and may be part-time or full-time depending on project needs. The consultant will be expected to work remotely or on-site in Bangkok as required. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, and the duration of the contract will be specified upon hiring.
