Job Overview:
The Associate Senior Enterprise Architect position at the World Bank Group is a pivotal role within the Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU). This role is designed to enable the World Bank Group to fulfill its mission of eradicating extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity by delivering innovative information and technology solutions to its staff across over 150 locations. The position involves defining and governing portfolio architectures and product architectures to enhance solution delivery within the ITS portfolio. The architect will leverage enterprise architecture frameworks and best practices while ensuring compliance with established architectural standards. The role also requires translating organizational strategies and digital transformation goals into actionable enterprise architecture directions and technology roadmaps. The Associate Senior Enterprise Architect will be responsible for driving the adoption of cloud platforms and AI capabilities, ensuring that technology initiatives align with the Bank Group's mission and business objectives. This position is critical in fostering collaboration across various World Bank Group entities and leveraging technology to accelerate development impact and advance digital transformation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate Senior Enterprise Architect will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including defining and governing portfolio and product architectures to facilitate solution delivery. The architect will drive the adoption and optimization of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, as well as AI/ML capabilities. They will translate organizational strategies into coherent enterprise architecture directions and technology roadmaps, evaluate industry trends, and produce high-quality architecture artifacts. Collaboration with business leaders, solution architects, and Agile teams is essential to co-create innovative solutions. The architect will also act as a trusted advisor, aligning stakeholders around shared architectural standards and governance practices. Responsibilities include balancing innovation with risk management, designing enterprise integration strategies, leading the development of enterprise architecture frameworks, and guiding the assessment of existing IT infrastructure for modernization opportunities. The architect will communicate architectural strategies to executive leadership and manage collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure holistic architectural coherence.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree with at least 8 years of experience in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, or a related discipline, or a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. An Enterprise Architecture certification (TOGAF, EACOE, or equivalent) and a Cloud Solutions Architect certification (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are required. Strong hands-on experience in designing and governing cloud reference architectures for large-scale environments is essential. Proven experience in establishing enterprise guardrails and driving cloud adoption is also necessary. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in integration strategies and patterns, as well as the ability to assess existing IT landscapes and recommend modernization opportunities. Strong communication skills are required to convey complex architectural concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Management, or a related field. Alternatively, candidates with a Bachelor's degree must have at least 10 years of relevant experience. The position also requires specific certifications in Enterprise Architecture and Cloud Solutions Architecture, which validate the candidate's expertise in these critical areas.
