Job Overview:
The WBG Pioneer - Data Analysis Intern position is designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students who are eager to gain practical experience in data analysis within the context of global development. Interns will engage in hands-on projects that contribute to the World Bank Group's mission of ending poverty and promoting sustainable development. The role involves working with large datasets, conducting data analysis, and utilizing AI technologies to enhance data quality and operational efficiency. Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including data preparation, cleaning, and quality control. This involves validating and reconciling large datasets, developing systematic processes for data standardization, and preparing data outputs for various applications. The intern will also conduct data analysis to identify trends and prepare reports, as well as pilot AI-powered workflows to improve data integrity. Additionally, the intern will create data visualizations to effectively communicate findings and support decision-making processes. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be master's candidates in fields such as data analytics, data science, statistics, computer science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence. Strong programming skills in Python are essential, along with experience in managing and analyzing large datasets. Familiarity with JavaScript and SQL is advantageous. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data management and formula application, are required. Experience with AI-assisted workflows and legal research is a strong plus, as is the ability to translate data findings into actionable insights and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be enrolled in a master's or PhD program, or in the fifth year of a degree program in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages. Candidates must provide an official letter from their university confirming that the internship fulfills academic requirements for at least one term of study.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in data analysis, preferably within a research or academic setting. Experience with AI technologies and data visualization tools is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as the role requires effective communication with a diverse range of stakeholders. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not required.
