Job Overview: In this role, under the supervision of the Deputy CountryDirector - Programs, you will be responsible for defining strategies and coordinating Action contre la Faim's interventions in Chad in the fields of health and nutrition. Your specific missions will include designing, capitalizing on, and evaluating nutritional and health interventions as well as advocacy actions in your sector. You will monitor and coordinate programs in the areas of nutrition and health, manage the Nutrition Health team in the capital (including one deputy), and ensure functional management of the Nutrition Health Program Managers at the bases. Additionally, you will develop and animate programs and advocacy in partnership with national and local stakeholders, representing Action contre la Faim and advocating for its positions in the fields of health and nutrition.
Duties and Responsibilities: Your duties will encompass a wide range of responsibilities including but not limited to: designing and implementing nutrition and health programs, evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, coordinating with local and national partners, managing a team of health and nutrition professionals, ensuring adherence to protocols for managing malnutrition, and developing strategic partnerships. You will also be responsible for overseeing the planning and monitoring of programs at a national scale, representing the organization in external forums, and advocating for policies that support health and nutrition initiatives. Furthermore, you will be expected to provide technical support and capacity building for team members, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively carry out their roles.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this position, you must hold a higher education degree in health or nutrition, with initial training as a doctor or nurse. You should have at least three years of experience in the international humanitarian sector, demonstrating a solid understanding of malnutrition management protocols. Proven experience in team management, capacity development, and technical support is essential. You must possess strong coordination, planning, and program monitoring skills, as well as experience in external representation and partnership development. The ideal candidate will be rigorous, autonomous, and proactive, with excellent analytical, writing, synthesis, and problem-solving abilities.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a higher education degree in health or nutrition. This educational background is crucial as it provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the complexities of health and nutrition interventions in humanitarian contexts.
Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in the international humanitarian sector is required. This experience should include direct involvement in health and nutrition programs, demonstrating the ability to manage teams and coordinate complex interventions effectively.
Languages: Fluency in French, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in English is considered an additional asset, enhancing communication capabilities in diverse settings and with international partners.
Additional Notes: This position is offered on a fixed-term contract under French law for a duration of 12 months. The gross monthly salary ranges from 2597 to 2968 euros, depending on experience, and includes a 13th month payment. Non-French citizens will receive a retirement insurance reimbursement of 16% of their gross monthly salary. There is a base salary increase of 6% every 12 months of continuous contract. Additional benefits include a monthly per diem and living expenses of 838 euros net, a monthly contextual allowance of 150 euros, and an annual child allowance of 1500 euros per child present in the home country (with a ceiling of 6000 euros per year). Transportation and accommodation costs are covered, and medical coverage includes 100% reimbursement of health contributions and repatriation insurance, as well as medical expenses for up to one month after the end of the contract. Salary maintenance provisions are in place for illness, maternity, and paternity. Employees are entitled to 25 days of annual leave and 20 rest and recuperation days per year, with travel costs covered for breaks.
