Job Overview:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the logistical activities of the mission to ensure the smooth implementation of SI programs in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This role involves establishing and ensuring adherence to SI's logistical procedures and tools within the mission. The coordinator participates in defining the logistical strategy for the mission, drafting project proposals, and determining the necessary resources for SI's activities. They serve as the primary point of contact for logistical matters between the headquarters and the mission. The position faces significant challenges, including high volumes of purchases, emergency logistics, physical access constraints, exorbitant logistical costs in the DRC, and issues related to corruption and fraud. The first two to three months will focus on auditing the supply chain, analyzing ongoing purchase files, verifying compliance with donor procedures, and optimizing logistics operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Coordinator's duties include conducting an audit of the supply chain, analyzing ongoing purchase files, reviewing the purchase tracking table, and ensuring compliance with donor procedures. They will verify communication equipment, validate emergency transport means, optimize the fleet and storage, and conduct a physical inventory of stock and immobilized assets. The coordinator will also support the logistics department in enhancing their autonomy and compliance with purchasing documentation. Improving communication between logistics and programs through regular meetings to anticipate project needs is essential. Field visits to various operational bases will be necessary to audit local realities and harmonize practices with the capital. Additionally, the coordinator will evaluate logistical risks and finalize a logistical contingency plan to address potential crises and supply chain disruptions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a diploma in logistics, supply chain management, or international relations. A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector is required, with at least 2 years in a similar position. Skills in supply chain management, management of large equipment fleets, telecommunications, IT, team management, strategic approach, and stress management are essential.

Educational Background:
A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or international relations is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage logistics operations in a humanitarian context.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a minimum of 2 years in a logistics coordinator role. This experience is crucial for understanding the complexities and challenges of logistics in emergency and development settings.

Languages:
Fluency in French and English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication within the organization and with external partners.

• The salary is based on experience, starting from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly, along with a monthly per diem of USD 80
• SI covers housing costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the duty station. A break system is in place, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, with additional rest days for each month worked. Expatriates receive comprehensive health insurance covering medical expenses, including dental and ophthalmological care, repatriation, and necessary vaccinations. Living conditions include accommodation in guest houses with private rooms and bathrooms, access to varied and quality food, and opportunities for recreational activities. Security measures are in place, with evolving rules based on the context, particularly due to the ongoing Ebola epidemic in the region.
