Job Overview:
The Grant Coordinator will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the implementation of grants and funding agreements. This position requires a proactive individual who can ensure compliance with donor requirements and internal policies. The Grant Coordinator will work closely with program teams to develop project proposals, monitor progress, and report on outcomes. The role also involves liaising with donors and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and secure future funding. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of grant management processes and be able to provide technical support to field teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive grant management system to track all grant agreements and funding sources.
  • Ensure compliance with donor regulations and internal policies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with program teams to prepare high-quality project proposals and budgets.
  • Monitor project implementation and provide regular updates to management and donors.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on grant management best practices.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports to donors, ensuring accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
  • Facilitate communication between field teams and headquarters regarding grant-related issues.
  • Identify opportunities for capacity building within the organization related to grant management.
  • Support the development of new funding proposals and strategies to diversify funding sources.

Required Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of grant management processes and donor compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international development, public administration, or business management is required. A master's degree is preferred and may be advantageous for candidates seeking to advance in this role.

Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant management or a related field is required. Experience working in a humanitarian or development context is highly desirable. Familiarity with donor regulations and compliance is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of Arabic is a plus and would be considered an asset for this position.

Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position based in Port Sudan. The role may require occasional travel to field sites. The contract duration is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability and performance.
