Job Overview:
The Communications Officer/CMS Specialist position within the IMF's Communications Department (COM) is a critical role that focuses on managing and optimizing digital content across the IMF's websites, particularly IMF.org and other related platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for content publishing, website maintenance, and ensuring that all digital content aligns with the IMF's strategic communication goals. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing content updates, performing quality assurance, and applying best practices in metadata management and search engine optimization (SEO). The Communications Officer will work closely with various stakeholders, including technical teams and business partners, to ensure that the content is accurate, accessible, and engaging for both internal and external audiences. The position demands a proactive attitude towards improving user experience and enhancing the visibility of IMF publications and resources.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the Communications Officer/CMS Specialist include:
  • Content Publishing and Website Management: Create, update, and publish content in Sitecore XM Cloud using approved templates and components. Manage content updates across multiple websites and language versions. Support content migrations, content audits, and ongoing site maintenance. Perform quality assurance (QA) reviews to ensure content accuracy, functionality, accessibility, and compliance with publishing standards.
  • Content Optimization and Metadata Management: Maintain metadata, tagging, indexing, and content taxonomy standards across digital platforms. Apply SEO, GEO, and AEO best practices, including page titles, descriptions, alt text, and internal linking. Ensure consistent metadata and content governance practices to improve discovery and user experience. Monitor website performance and engagement metrics and recommend content improvements.
  • Stakeholder Support and Coordination: Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, manage content requests, and resolve publishing issues. Coordinate with technical teams and vendors, escalating development-related issues when necessary. Support the delivery of high-quality digital content that advances the IMF’s communications and outreach objectives. Collaborate with colleagues across the Communications Department and the wider institution on content and publishing initiatives. Contribute to other divisional and departmental projects as required.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess an advanced university degree or equivalent in communications, international relations, languages, or a related field. Alternatively, a university degree with six years of relevant professional experience is acceptable. The candidate must have hands-on experience with enterprise content management systems (CMS), particularly Sitecore XM Cloud, and should be familiar with managing multilingual websites and web publishing workflows. A strong understanding of metadata management, content taxonomy, and SEO best practices is essential. Experience with web analytics tools, such as Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics, is also required. Familiarity with digital publishing tools and graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite, is desirable. The candidate should demonstrate project coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously. Languages:
