Job Overview:
The position of ICT Support in IT Network Maintenance and Upgrade Works is an internship role within the Digital and Information Technology Management Section (DITMS) at the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Chief of DITMS and receive day-to-day guidance from the Network Technology Team Leader. The primary function of this role is to provide technical and operational support to the Administration, Conference Management Division (ACMD) within DITMS. The intern will engage in various projects that involve upgrading network infrastructure, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and supporting the overall ICT initiatives of the organization. The internship is designed to provide practical experience in a professional setting, allowing the intern to apply their academic knowledge in real-world scenarios while contributing to the organization's mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include:

• Supporting LAN & WLAN Upgrade Works by providing technical assistance for the installation, configuration, and testing of new wireless access points and LAN equipment. The intern will also assist in upgrading existing network infrastructure components to ensure optimal performance.
• Assisting with Network Troubleshooting, Maintenance, and Monitoring by diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues, reviewing firewall configurations, and documenting security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security risks. The intern will help monitor network performance and contribute to preparing performance reports.
• Engaging in Other Activities as Needed, which may include providing general ICT support for various projects, preparing technical documentation, participating in team meetings, and supporting asset management tasks. The intern's daily responsibilities will vary based on their background and the specific projects they are assigned to during the internship period.

Required Qualifications:
