Job Overview:
The Program Engagement Consultant-MNO 1 position is designed to support the AgriFin Digital Farmer II program, which is a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the livelihoods of smallholder farmers through digital solutions. This role will involve working closely with mobile network operators (MNOs) in Ethiopia to develop and implement gender-focused innovations that empower low-income women in the digital economy. The consultant will be responsible for building strong partnerships, developing project plans, and ensuring that the initiatives align with the goals of improving digital skills and economic opportunities for women. The consultant will also engage in monitoring project progress, preparing reports, and conducting due diligence on potential partners, all while fostering collaboration among stakeholders to achieve the project's objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: supporting partner relationships and project plans, leading the development of business and work plans, reviewing marketing strategies and operational manuals, monitoring project progress, preparing reports, conducting due diligence on partners, and participating in learning meetings. The consultant will also assist in identifying technical consultants, contribute to the learning agenda, and support MNOs in proposal development for the BMGF Innovation Fund. Regular updates and reports on project activities will be required, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field, with a master's degree preferred. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in banking, mobile network operations, or reputable organizations is required. Candidates should have experience with mobile money, financial services, and technology for development, along with a working knowledge of the Ethiopian sector in these areas. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multicultural team environment. Candidates should demonstrate analytical and problem-solving abilities, project management skills, and attention to detail.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and understanding of the complexities involved in managing projects within the financial and technological sectors.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of experience working in relevant fields such as banking, mobile network operations, or with international or national organizations. Experience with mobile money and financial services is preferred, along with a demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively and work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Languages:
