Job Overview:
The Senior Project Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the conceptualization, coordination, and implementation of IOM’s Migration, Business, and Human Rights (MBHR) Programme in Indonesia. This position aligns with the three pillars of the UN Guiding Principles of Business and Human Rights (UNGPs) which are 'Protect, Respect, and Remedy'. The MBHR programme aims to promote full respect for the human and labour rights of migrant workers, particularly focusing on women and migrants in vulnerable situations within supply chains across Asia. The role involves working on key regional labour migration corridors, which include countries of both destination and origin such as Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. The Senior Project Associate will report directly to the National Project Officer and will be involved in various aspects of project management, including planning, monitoring, and reporting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Associate will assist in planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring project activities. Responsibilities include compiling, summarizing, analyzing, and presenting information/data on specific project topics, highlighting noteworthy issues for consideration. The role involves monitoring budget implementation and proposing necessary adjustments, acting as a focal point for administrative coordination of project implementation, and liaising with diverse organizational units and external parties. The Senior Project Associate will draft status reports, identify shortfalls in delivery, and suggest corrective measures. They will also draft correspondence on project issues, prepare and update reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other documentation. Organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions, preparing training materials, and participating in capacity-building workshops are also key responsibilities. The position requires responding to complex information requests, maintaining files/records, and participating in meetings and conferences while liaising with local authorities, partners, UN agencies, NGOs, donors, and other stakeholders. The Senior Project Associate will monitor the work of implementing partners and report any non-compliance, provide inputs for the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and concept papers, and support the development of new projects. Additionally, they may provide guidance and training to other staff in the unit and supervise other staff as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree from an accredited institution in Political or Social Sciences, Business Administration, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or a related field, along with four years of relevant work experience. Alternatively, a school diploma with six years of relevant work experience is acceptable. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. Candidates should be Indonesian nationals with a good understanding of migration policies and issues, as well as migration-related programming in Indonesia. Professional experience in project implementation, donor liaison, operations, administration, capacity building, monitoring, and evaluation is advantageous. Experience in the labour migration context, including migrant workers' protection and empowerment programming, is also required, along with experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, UN agencies, and NGOs.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree from an accredited institution in relevant fields such as Political or Social Sciences, Business Administration, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or a related field. Alternatively, candidates with a school diploma and six years of relevant work experience will also be considered. It is essential that the educational qualifications come from accredited universities recognized in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of four years of relevant work experience if they hold a university degree, or six years if they have a school diploma. Candidates should have a strong understanding of migration policies and issues in Indonesia, with professional experience in project implementation, donor liaison, operations, administration, capacity building, monitoring, and evaluation being highly advantageous. Experience working in the labour migration context, particularly with migrant workers, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable groups, is essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience in building partnerships with private sector entities and facilitating capacity-building training and workshops.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia (oral and written) is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments. All IOM staff members are required to be fluent in one of the IOM's official languages, which include English, French, and Spanish.
